This was when Bojacks truly relapsed. He is just as addicted to fame and fandom as he is to drugs, sex and alcohol. Just like any addict whose been clean for awhile they need to remember that just one tiny sip can cause a return of old problems. The moment Bojack realized that he had fans and Hollywoo fame again he instantly wanted more. The first interview was about doing the right thing and if he had only ended it there he could've had his new life, but he couldn't resist the 2nd interview which was about feeding his narcissistic ego again. It was no longer about doing what was right. He very quickly forgot all about Sarah Lynn, Gina, Charlotte, Penny and anyone else he hurt which the first interview was supposed to be him making amends for. Instead he was willing to throw all those women he hurt under the bus again for himself. That one little tast of postive media press from the first interview got him to go right back to being the old Bojack who dosen't care about those he hurt. In someways this scene is more telling about Bojacks character then the 2nd interview.

That second interview was exactly what needed to happen and it was exactly what he deserved. I’m glad the second interview happened.

Bojack got what he always had coming to him, and it was all because of his narcissism. It’s kind of disgusting how this horrible action of Bojack’s was what got him all of this positive attention. To the point where now, all of the bad things he had done are just pawns to inflate his ego some more.

He never changed. He just hid his ego for a bit.

It's really tragic because the inevitable punishments for his past mistakes weren't actually inevitable. He was free and clear. Could've went right back to Connecticut.

It was inevitable for BoJack addiction because he can't help himself, he was never free, he will always want more and more and that's his inevitable mistake that he could never fix, Todd was right, it's You.

Many addicts are good people beneath their addictions. But Bojack? He's selfish and cruel to the core, and that all came out.

He's self aware to a T, he fully knows what a narcissist he is and hates himself for it. After rehab he had a small bit of progress of trying to rectify a lifetime of hurting others, but after he saw how famous the sob story made him its right back to old habits. I don't think Bojack is inherently cruel, there is some sliver that truly wants to do right by others. Problem is, instead of using that piece to heal his trauma, he turns it into self-loathing and lets it fuel his death drive

I hate that bojack didn’t get to keep living his new life and still do, but I also know that the second interview was necessary as a way for him to properly atone for his actions. It’s like seeing a friend that’s an addict get arrested. You hate to see it but you hope that this is the rock Bottom that will get them to keep climbing out of the pit and not fall that far (or deeper) again. And as the ending shows, both are real possibilities

Princess Caroline was such an enabler. And I’m glad she realized that after the second interview.

Despite knowing the truth behind Bojack in the second interview. I still kinda despise Pinky in this scene, because he's the one that started the second interview idea.

That's not the same. Pinky was desperate because he was flat broke and needed money. Bojack did it all for the clout and didn't need too. But it's better that he did. That way he's held fully accountable.
