Rewatching these episodes as an adult makes me angry as to how bad the shape of the show is now. These earlier ones had so many things going on & were well researched. Now it’s a joke.

Exactly! The older episodes of this show have more heart, soul, and integrity in them versus the obvious and repetitive plot-driven stories of today.

the continuity of the series killed it like they killed all the beautiful things in it like Taylor and Ridge - Thorn and Macy - Eric and Stephany replacing it with the logans destroying the core of the show transforming it to a something fragile like breaking every single character we love and you end up with something you do not know where are the people we fell in love with all gone what is left is a vague memory of the past glory

What destroys the show is these young plastic looking teens and young people who look like they belong on Gossip girl, with a few light skinned black people thrown in for diversity. I only watch the show now for Sheila's evil. I hope she destroys them all.

@@daliaelkhatib1726 The show was devised to center around two families with contrasting socio-economic backgrounds, that of course being the Logans and the Forresters. it was also devised to essentially have Ridge and Brooke drive the show, as both Bells have stated. you might not like the Logans. I personally prefer them to the Forresters, but you can't call them interlopers when the show was written for them.

I love Rocco! Also Stephanie I wouldn't wear Clark's gift if I'm not interested. I would've politely declined a LONG TIME AGO. Humm so is Ridge going to have Rocco model and this is where Donna will come in...for he always helping her. Yes...Beth....grandchildren with your first love.. 🙃 Awwwwwww I do feel bad for Beth, it definitely hits home. Brooke has some good qualities but they are diminished when she gets around Ridge.

I didn't start watching the show until Sheila crossed over in 1992. By that time, there seems to have been a significant shift in the tone and direction of the show. The Logan family, except for Brooke were all gone. Margot, Kristen and Rocco are missing too. I had no clue that Clark was with Stephanie. He was married to and working for Sally when I started watching. The focus for the past 30 years seems to consistently be about who owns and/or runs Forrestor creation, and which man Brooke wants. When did this tone shift occur?

Around the death of Caroline. The Sheila crossover actually drove the series to number 2 in the ratings behind Y&R and from then on the writers pulled out outrageous storylines to keep audiences interested. Like Taylor being held by an Arab sheikh. But Storm was around as he was old friends with Taylor. How did you miss that? Maybe because he had been recast at that point and you didn't recognize him.

Same! I never knew these back stories. I do remember later in the series Brooke's sisters made a comeback of sorts, and I always thought Taylor was Ridge's first love. I do remember Sally, and Sheila, and Taylor being thought dead or something like that. It's really interesting to see the beginning.

@@Salmiyaguy1 They just started posting the episodes where Sheila joined the show, but no Storm. In fact, what's funny is he must have left some time before that because Margot and her brother are still in the title sequence even though they are no longer on the show, but Storm's not even in the credits. It looks like when Sheila crossed over, Brooke was mulling to move to Paris to be with her family. If storm was still in LA, he never visited Brooke when she was in the hospital.

@@piper998877 I don't know what happened, but almost half of the cast left the show in 1989. Thorn and Storm were recasted. Execpt Brooke, (and Storm recasted), the others Logan went away, as Rocco. In 1990, Caroline, e Kristen left, Donna left in 1991 and Margo left in 1992.
