This is when I stopped watching the show and I never really returned as a regular viewer again. Taylor wasn't always the most dynamic character but she was beautiful and good and her death marked the end of an era (truth be told, the show had already lost much of its quality and class before that). Every soap needs an honorable heroine and Taylor was that from the time she first married Ridge to now - the years that I watched the show consistently with my sister. I know there is some good stuff coming up (like Macy's return and the takeover by Stephanie). But back then it felt like Brad had gotten rid of the only two characters who could really be heroines (Macy and Taylor) and elevated two u&ly goblins with no heroine attributes (Brooke and Amber).

You have the right to your opinion but Taylor was made a god just in the last few weeks. She wasn't perfect. However I agree that ridge and taylor were a beautiful couple with their three children but to be so wicked calling Brooke and amber goblins is so wrong. You are stuck on being abusive to them and very unfair. The future will show this as even the past has shown Ridge choosing Brooke. To go and on about someone's looks shows how shallow you are. Only beautiful people are entitled to love ?

*Taylor's Beautiful Death* Taylor's death, like Caroline's and Becky's, is what we could describe as a "Beautiful Death". Taylor dies peacefully in her husband's arms, after having said goodbye to her loved ones and given them words of wisdom and comfort to remember when she's gone. Taylor Iying in that hospital bed looks, talks and behaves like an angel. As we can see, there are many parallels between these scenes and Caroline's final scenes in 1990. Both women were married to Ridge and were described at the time of their deaths as the love of his life. Both women knew what was going to happen to them before anyone else did, and had time to say their goodbyes and make peace with their fate. And both women were given a symbolically significant gift to remind them of what was important to them in life - Caroline's charm bracelet from Ridge symbolizing the _future_ she would never have, and Taylor's drawing from her children with pictures of the things she appreciated in her _present_ life. All these factors mean that had Taylor stayed dead, her 2002 death would have been remembered as equally iconic and poignant as Caroline's. However, this effect was completely undone by Taylor's _ridicuIous_ 2005 resurrection, and the complete character rewrite that followed. So in many ways, it is actually Taylor's "real" death that we see on screen here - the death of _Bill Bell's_ Taylor Hayes.

Beautiful death that kinda was tarnished with the *_ridiculous resurrection_* . Ridge and the best LA doctors didn't realize that Taylor still had been alive? The medication didn't work and she was too weak for another surgery, but Taylor then survived without machines, oxygen or infusions? Omar's men found her alive in the morgue, kidnapped her easily and flew her to Morocco, so that she could heal at the palace? Omar sjust o quickly had gotten a dummy body that then fooled everyone at the open-casket funeral? But yes, it is typical B&B writing. During the last years we had the beautiful death of Finn, a husband "dying" when he tried to protect his wife from being shot - and then his doctor mother easily kidnapped him from hospital, when they had been able to revive him but the other doctors believed Finn to be brain-dead.

I did not even read this yet, and I wrote something similar! Down to the Caroline music.. Reminded me so much of that era. I feel sorry for Ridge tho. Imagine losing 2 wives whom he loved. And you're all right. They should have just left Taylor to RIP, instead of bringing her back for the most ridiculous of stories in an effort to finally elevate Brooke. Having Taylor have Brooke's baby I think was the worst thing they could have had happen to Taylor.

@@mara4450 for me, the final naiI in the coffin (pun intended) was the open casket funeral. No character should ever return from that. It really makes every death on the show seem reversible, which lessens the emotional impact of a character dying.

It think it's pretty safe to say the big audience pretty much cancelled the Bold from this moment on. This was most definitely the end of an era. We all cancelled soap operas after the early 2000s. It didn't only have to do with Senior Bell dying, but it also had to do with the rise of the internet. Back in the day we had like 20 channels to choose from. Now we have like 2000. The downfall of soap opera's led to magazines being cancelled, like Soap Weekly and so on. I'm so proud we're from the generation of soap opera's and cable TV. Boy, are we getting old..

I agree! To me, what makes it special is watching these scenes along with all of you. Many of these scenes are ones that I have seen many times (like the iconic slow motion scene with Sheila the other day), but more than half the fun is sharing the experience and reading everyone's reactions.

A big part of Ridge was never the same after this. Just like when Caroline died, a piece of Ridge died again here. Caroline's death and Taylor's "death" in 1994 broke him, but I feel like this partly destroyed him. The Tridge family was never the same after this 😢💔

I understand that in a show like this, a big character as Ridge can’t stay married to the same character forever, they did keep them married for 4 years (longest marriage up until then, maybe even to this day, I don’t know because I stopped watching many years ago) and they even managed to keep them interesting, that, along with the fact that they actually preferred to end Tridge like this and not with a break up shows just how strong their love was.. this death scene was very deep, strong and emotional, which is why, as sad and terrible it was for us, the fans, they should have kept her dead forever Her resurrection, other than the fact that it was incredibly stupid and nonsensical (even for a sope), it totally ruined the power and weight of the death scene, and worse, it ruined Taylor’s character and her and Ridge as well with the stupid rewrite they did, seriously it was so ridiculous and contradicted the past that I don’t get how they had the nerve to do it

During her final year, she was on oxygen and the moment I saw Taylor's fingers I was like "no, that girl has _allll_ the oxygen she'll ever need, her heart is working fine". It kind of prevented me from completely feeling the scene.

Bell Jr. was obsessed with KKL from the start and at some point it took on pathological traits. With Bell Sr. Taylor's role was completely different - a self-confident woman. With Bell Jr. all she needed for later was to shine a light on his sacred cow and let her win again and again. Why did HT do this to herself?

The episode start with the BPM of Taylor heart goes very high and she ask Stephanie to tell Ridge to come fast and the doctors come to talk with Taylor. 3:10 Stephanie go to Ridge and tell him come quick to Taylor room. 5:11 Stephanie tells Eric about Taylor health status. 8:00 + 10:09 Taylor tell Ridge that she is not going home with him. 16:48 Taylor ask from Ridge to helo her stand and hug her. Taylor dies in Ridge Arms.

Bradley Bell fired Hunter because he said he didn't know what tò write fot Taylor due tò the fact She was too good. Hunter informed us of the firing the minute she was informed of that. Bradley had no intention of bringing her back at the time. They brought her back in 2005 as their rating were not good and bill bell asked him to bring Taylor back As she was Essential to the show. I kinda thought it was a waste to do that only to hype up Brooke and Ridge getting back together. They ruined Tridge and Taylor by doing that.

And just because you're so sure she was not fired because you followed her back then, I'll make a speculation( based on a HT's interview): Taylor and Ridge were not together anymore because RM's second wife was jealous of HT, knowing they had a flirt and a decade of attraction working together like husband and wife.
