that popcorn ceiling paint really laid down well... even in 1080p you can really see the texture in the paint.. It looks great and its also nonslip ... wow

Coming from a body man, Brandon didn't do half bad considering his experience level. A cut and buff would get it acceptable, and having a part in the project really does make it more personal, even if it's a flaw

I love this color . My uncle has a very early production vin# I think it's #6 also the same color with white interior and soft doors and top . It's perfect shape and we occasionally drive it in homecoming lol . Really hope I get to buy it or inherit it ... good looking bronco your building. I helped my uncle nut and bolt restore his in the early 90s . Later

Vehicle exterior perfection is 95% prep and 5% spraying the final paint coats. I know having done this with my grandfather on some of his restomod projects. His 1949 Ford business coupe car was nothing but pain due to how imperfect the body was...

Yeah but the work space you have to work with for the coyote motor is like trying to work on a mini van it’s complicated cause the work space is tight. It’s like your building a smaller version of the raptor just a SUV.
@2005StangMan3 жыл бұрын
All those extra steps and the paint still looks rough as hell when finished. Skip the extra primer steps if you're going to paint it so you need to wet sand and polish after it anyway.

Beach buggy... meaning sea salt air and saltwater splashes. 20 years ago, I had a westcoast 74 Bronco that spent some time at the coast in Washington. Rust was everywhere in every nook and cranny. The previous owner did his best to cover it up, but when a passenger door falls off because the bolts holding it onto the body snap and closing the tailgate sounds like glass breaking and falling inside it, you know you're in trouble. I traded to someone with deep pockets, but to restore it, it needed *every* body piece and I didn't have that kind of money. Frame and drivetrain was very good and off roading never better as long as you overlooked the body. Personally, it sad it is sad that the truck in the video will be driven anywhere there is salt. Sea salt is worse than road salt, it's a 24/7 52 weeks a year attack on every part made of steel.

@Maybe, maybe not. tail gate center looks like shit ...very poor film build and that's a tough area to cut and buff coz it's recessed ...not a quality job imo
@richarddarlington11393 жыл бұрын
It's about atomization. These gravity-fed HVLP guns do not atomize the paint nearly as well as the old siphon feed guns. Also, using a too fast reducer can cause early flash-off, preventing the paint from flowing. A competent painter with the right equipment and materials (screw VOC's), can really lay it down. It also makes the color sanding and buffing go a lot easier. For production work, such as collision repair, no buffing required.

I'm eating an orange with a smoother surface than that paint job. Wow 🤦♂️ All that A+ prep work then a C- Maaco spray job.. Turn down your product and spray a little slower. Base/clear isn't a race in a temperature controlled booth. That was a factory quality paint job, definitely not SEMA quality.

It seems weird to me that such a high quality paint job was done on this... not just because of the awful color.... but there was no custom metal work, and its not a show truck... I can see this level if you would have shaved the hinges... in my opinion this build would have been best served with a full linex paint job...
