I am going to do a video, but go to Lowes, and buy the new head and bump knob, it is literally a direct replacement
@MaxRice-m7l Жыл бұрын
This is the gas 2 cylinder trimmer I’ve been looking into for a little while to buy from Lowes, these gas trimmers have a ton of power, I have a newish HomeLite curved shaft gas model, but I kinda bought it on a whim last summer from Home Depot I’m mid June, so I’ll might replace it with a bolens or troybilt curved shaft 2 cylinder trimmer for better power and performance maybe next summer or the one after that to purchase then.

I can’t get that unscrewable cap to unscrew, help!
@MyLooneyBin Жыл бұрын
You will have to order. New one, then you will cut the plastic, just off of the bump cap portion and that will reveal a bolt that you can use a wrench on. That will help you get it off. You have to hold the larger cylinder steady while you unscrew. Try some large pliers before you start cutting.

What kind of gas does it take ? The 2 cycle gas you buy in can or regular gas ?
@MyLooneyBin Жыл бұрын
I mix my own, but you can buy the 40:1 ratio at Lowe's . I recommend ethanol free or you must drain and winterize, otherwize the carburetor will gum up

I used this last season, bought 2. It start then stop after maybe 2 mins. Bought a Husqvarna recently, its doin the same… im using 50:1 for both. Is that the problem? I was told u can use 50:1 for all trimmers
@MyLooneyBin Жыл бұрын
I am not sure about that, I use at least 40:1. I actually mix my own and only use the ethanol free gas in doing so. I literally haven't had one issue since I bought it. I start it in sequence and it starts every time. Started right up even after setting this winter.

@MyLooneyBin2 жыл бұрын
This will be my 3rd season, but haven't started it yet. I only use non-ethenol gas , but just double check your gas bulb and spark plug. But if you've been using regular gas, probably gonna need a new carburator. But then again you can buy 4 for the price of one Stihl brand. So basically you need a Stihl to last for 20 years to be as equitable.

Curved weed eaters work best for trimming on hills- when you are going to be in the higher position cutting down to the weeds/grass. If your land/cutting area is flat you’ll want straight shaft weed eater.

Someone gave me one last year. I cleaned the carb and got it running good but restringing is difficult because the cap center head won't lock to be able to screw it off. When you take the shaft apart, the piece connected to the engine is male and the trimmer head is female. This is the opposite of most craftsman trimmer head shafts I have laying around. I have been looking for new trimmer head shaft but I may just resort to an aftermarket trimmer head to attach to the end. Any other ideas or let me know if you have the same problem?

sorry for the delay, but it is 40-1 you can buy premixed cans at Lowes, or you can just buy the 2 cycle oil and mix it yourself. they also sell mixing bottles that help to make sure you get the ratios right thanks
