In this video we take a look at Cedar Walton's modern jazz standard Bolivia, first heard in 1975 on his album Eastern Rebellion. Bolivia is a great example of disguised harmony - there's an underlying foundation harmonic progression that is reharmonised and disguised by Cedar Walton. It's essential to understand not only the foundation harmony, but also the theory behind the reharmonisation to improvise fluently on this great standard.
