Abóbora in Portugal is NOT zucchini. It is the big orange pumpkin kind Americans use for Halloween. Zucchini is something one used in soups, that was about it. Zucchini in Portugal Portuguese is “courgette”. Also to plump up dried fruits portuguese people often use “aguardente” (schnapps).
