Some say there are two deaths: one when you die, and another the last time your name is spoken on earth. I think of people like Hammurabi about 3,500 years ago, or Gilgamesh who lived almost 4,000 years ago, or Sargon who lived about 4,400 years ago. Few people will remember most of us 100 or 200 years after our deaths, let alone four millennia.

Bolo Yeung is awesome, I've always liked him and the work he has done. He was in great shape and had a fantastic build but there is zero chance he could defeat Bruce Lee in a legit fight. Bruce was so unbelievably fast and he had insane power with real force behind his kicks and punches. Bruce Lee never wanted to be bulky or huge, he trained to have absolute precision and to be as fast as possible, also to be and stay exceptionally flexible. He did train to be strong and have power but you do not need to be bulky to make this happen, Bruce was living proof of this. Lee was so young when he passed, I always wonder had he lived how much better and more skillful with his martial art he would have become top tier xs 1000000 more so than he already was, he would have continued to train endlessly and learn even more.
@lukaduka1001 Жыл бұрын
I question that. A good big guy will always beat a good little guy. Its all myth and legend around Bruce. Bruce Lee fan boys seem to think Bruce is unbeatable even against much bigger opponents. Muhammad Ali would have annihilated Bruce but F.B.s seem to think the laws of physics don't apply to Bruce. They wont listen to reality or reason. Instead they will quote myths and hearsay and this suddenly becomes reality. They start spouting internet quotes about speed and power. I have yet to see an actual Bruce Lee fight that isnt choreographed or isnt some hazy grainy black and white film from a distance.

Quite stunning to think it’s now 50 years this July 2023 since Bruce Lees death. As a kid I remember hearing about it, the shocking news reverberated even in my junior school playground in England in 1973. The older brothers and fathers of kids shared their grief. Besides it’s stamped in my memory so strongly when it happened so it doesn’t seem that long ago. Even these casual pictures of Bolo and Bruce could’ve been yesterday, they havent aged, they look contemporary and don’t look ancient, time is a strange thing.

@@DudeSilad yeah I remember the Kung Fu series on TV, it was brilliant, I couldn’t wait for the next episode. Even Carl Douglas famous 1974 pop song ‘Kung fu fighting’ was cashing in on the phenomenon. Bruce’s influence was everywhere, he was way ahead of his time. There was nobody remotely comparable in movies at that time. The man opened up a whole new movie genre in the West, definitely one of a kind. Ironically, at a time when the US was in Asia, deeply entrenched in one of the most controversial wars ever, Vietnam.

Bruce Lee was so fast that in his movies he was actually told to SLOW DOWN because the cameras couldn't keep up with his speed. The scenes would look like people were just falling down because he was so fast so they told him to cut back a little in order for the cameras to actually see him hitting them. I can only imagine what incredible movies and philosophies he would have made had he lived to an old age. I named my son after Bruce's son Brandon Lee. Both of them were my heroes and I can't believe they both died so young. Both would have been bigger legends than they were and that's saying alot considering Bruce was already a legend when he passed. @@blakemcwilliams9028 Yeah think I heard something about that, which is why I know he would have also studied Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He's basically the first person to adopt mixed martial arts. He always said I like to take what works from each thing and discard the rest. Or something to that effect. He didn't just work on what looks good on camera in a movie, he was into utilizing martial arts for actual combat.

Thank you for sharing this story of Bruce Lee and Bolo I'm gald that Bolo is still alive and that he can share this story of Bruce that he was the real deal!!!! And their was another story when Bolo walked up on Bruce and Bruce punched Bolo on the chest and knocked the wind out of him!!!! That's when they became friends!!!!

A defender is always at a disadvantage, because a well trained fighter can deliver a strike faster than human reaction time. A well trained defender relies on reading the attackers pre-strike preparation movements to anticipate the timing of the strike and block or evade before it lands. Or on constant movement to make oneself a more difficult target. What this story tells us is that not only did Bruce Lee have exceptional speed, he was also extremely good at not telegraphing his strikes. He was also good at fakes, feints and draws - possibly because he spent a lot of time studying fencing and incorporating their concepts into JKD. At close range, Bolo really didn’t have a chance. It would have been interesting to see the result if the roles had been reversed. Would Bolo have been able to hit Bruce? I guess we’ll never know.

Bolo is a fun guy. NOTHING like he’s portrayed in the movies. Lifelong competitor who always was up for a “friendly” match with anyone.

I have always wondered what kind of film would've been made with Bolo and Lo Meng. Definitely some good comedy, but the action scenes would've been absolutely amazing!

No brainer. Bodybuilders are not known for their speed. If it was a bench press competition, my money would be on Bolo.

@@eagle5501Yes, but people don’t understand that bolo outweighs bruce lee, obviously lee would be knocked out or choked out in a real fight against bolo. If everyone trained “thin and fast” and was “guaranteed to win” because of it, then the entire shaolin temple monks could easily “whoop anyone’s butt”. That’s not reality though because it all depends on the fighter, not whether they are super fast or not. How to fight trumps any fighter’s abilities. Fast and accurate sacrifices power. Strength sacrifices speed. Power sacrifices accuracy. Think about what’s being said here instead of playing favorites because it’s all objective in the end. Much love ❤️

@@Pedroluvslupe LOL “They were both in a fight”. If you believe that kid, there’s no hope for you. When you mature, go back and read my comment again. If not, good luck in life because you must be gullible to believe they actually “fought” lol

Bolo said later that Bruce was very fast. This is why I questioned Michael Jai when he said he probably could beat Bruce because of size and weight. When most don't even consider it to be a factor, when it's about skills. If Bruce was alive now, what level would he accomplish 🤔 and think? This was all he did...

I still believe that Bruce was the Bruce that we know because of his mindset. Obviously we know how Goddamned hard he trained, in the physical, and the mental, emotional, spiritual. I believe that a person could train even harder than he did, physically pertaining, yet, the fact that he believed he could, is just the X-Factor in his achieving his absolutely mind-blowing abilities.

I think michael jai is just another overrated actor who thinks he is that good but in reality bruce lee would have whopped his ass comfortablely just like how bolo yeung and others found out. Size does not count michael jai its the mindset and technique thats important and bruce lee was the best in the business when it came to that.
