Bolt Action Battle Report: Germany vs US Army, 500 point Normandy, NEW PLAYER!!!
This weeks battle report takes us to Normandy 1944 and sees a new player to the group, Chris, who is new to Bolt Action. He is also interested in Konflict 47, so having already bought, built and painted his Grenadier staryer army we will be running a short escalation campaign to get him up to speed and running with Bolt Action… just in time for Bolt Action version 3!

Watch as my small German company defend a farm utilised as a air identification station during DDay to spot allied aircraft.
Chris’ US army troops will try to push the Germans grenadiers back and take hold of the farm, this will help the war effor and assist the advancing allied army push further into France
Chris takes 500 points of US regulars as I field a small contingent of Germans to fight a rear guard and prevent the Americans from pushing through and linking up with the US beach landing force.
Set in a small farm area in northern Normandy, France, the fight will take place over a small village farm and buildings .
Another great battle, fantastic board and a few laughs and banter along the way…
…but who will win, watch and see!

Medium mortars and machine guns are considered fixed according to the rules. Fixed can only move with a run order, 6", not 12". because their weight slowed the crews down.

Indeed, but this is a new player and his first proper game of Bolt Action, so usually not ideal to stick rigidly to the rules and just have some fun throwing dice to get the interest. Once he has the book and his army built we can then focus on the rules in more detail. Usually first games just need to be a general introduction and a bit of fun. Chris enjoyed it so much he has purchased the Grenadier starter set and is building his first German army, so many more games with him I am sure.

Thank you, I have been away at the UKGE NEC Birmingham for the last 4 days running the Band of Brothers Bolt Action boards, so not able to have access to the rules to confirm or double check.

As usual great Terrain and nicely painted figures. Balanced forces that are slightly different in unit selection, making a lovely contrast in their fighting styles. 😀

Hi thanks for the positive comments, the main building and walls are from Micro Art Studio, they are pre-painted and easy to put together and look great on the table. 👍🏻

Depends on what the troops can see and whats in the way.

from the bazooka i mean, surley he can see more than 50% of the haltrack which means it does not get cover

@MrQuiff8 no, we agreed off camera that the bazooka team in the wheat field (not sat in top) and with a hedge in the way would give cover, both ways, the hedge around the field from soldier view was definitely cover, albeit soft… hope this helps understand why we gave the cover?

Justin sry to say but at the end of turn 2 the Hanomag was closer to the Americans in the building then your troops. So unless I am wrong it should have been removed as it is a transport.
