Mine, 3000 watt Cyclone. But that took lots of work to make work without tearing up bicycle style parts. I have to limit torque. If I could adapt small motorcycle chain and sprockets it would be a lot better.

I agree with most other people that it seems perfect for typical ebike use, e.g. its better geared for hills over speed. Besides 40mph gets a bit sketchy anyway. Crazy design

@JohnDoe-gn5bc Hey, a car has four tires, a motor, and seats.. yet not every car is priced the same. Live within your means.. I can't afford a Lamborghini but I certainly don't tell people it costs too much. The XD has technology and parts built-in that set it apart from the rest. I saw value.. I made purchase. I've yet to find an owner of an XD who regrets their purchase! I love my eBike.

@@JahBlessd Thaks for the reply :) I'm glad that you are enjoying your purchase. I don't disagree that the XD DUo is a great bike but at that price I would expect a torque sensor motor not a cadence sensor and something more substantial than a 17 ah battery. Plus the XD is heavy at 80+ lbs. I guarantee that my CYC X1 Pro on my specialized 29 er' will outperform the XD on every trail or in a flat out drag race and my range is twice that of the XD (I run a 72 volt, 28 Ah = 2016Wh vs. 52 volt, 17 Ah = 884 Wh) and is over $2000 cheaper. Stay safe on your speed demon.

@JohnDoe-gn5bc I can see you're proud of your diy upgrade kit. I had to look it up because I thought you actually had an ebike, not just a conversion kit. How do you find clearance after adding a motor beneath the frame? Is your kit the Gen 3 or are you dealing with the issues of previous models? For those who have a bike and want to get ebike features I think an aftermarket DIY kit like yours is a good option. Personally, I don't like the look and although the XD duo is a heavy bike, I wouldn't know because I own the "Eagle 2" which is 47 lbs and a bigger battery. It's not as big as yours, but I certainly would hate to look at that bag hanging from the frame like yours does. Hey, you might pass me in the short run with all that power but my bike was built specifically to handle 2300w of power thru a separate chain; yours was not and runs a HUGE risk of chewing up your gears and components. I'll stay safe on my speed demon, and I pray you do the same!
@JohnDoe-gn5bc
@JohnDoe-gn5bc 11 ай бұрын
@@JahBlessd I have the Gen 3 with a little over 700 kms (435 miles) and haven't had an issue. Clearance is exactly the same because the motor is inside the triangle. There is no bike bag, I have a hard triangle battery that is mounted to the bottle holder mounts. All wires are internally run ... Casette is a Box Two which is specifically designed for ebikes. The XD Eagle is a really nice looking bike and Bikrix is a rock solid company with great support ... you chose wisely.

Here's the ballpark determined for a related question examined on Endless-Sphere forum years ago. You'd need a motor/controller/battery/drivetrain that could handle 1000+ Amps, just to get 750 Watts @ 1 RPM. Most ebikes don't make full 'legal' power at take-off.

powerful and fast BUT: Around $1,000 overpriced, A HARD TAIL with that much power is a dangerous butt buster, and you get the same performance with a bafang ultra combined with a 1500 watt rear hub motor on a single throttle for about $1500 less in cost.

I dyno’d dozens, maybe hundreds of dirt bikes on a Dynojet from 1994-2006. Installing a street tire makes an enormous improvement compared to a knobby, or even a trials tire. We ALWAYS installed a street tire. Gearing made very little difference on these 2&4 stroke engines, which have a “power band”. I assume it would matter even less on an electric motor.

I think a lot of ebikes are demonstrated on KZbin at more watts. Not that they are street legal. The Aipas A8 mid-drive eTrike is rated at 130 NM, but I suspect that mid-drive eBikes give a false NM torque, giving the torque through the lowest derailleur gear. It seems common for mid-drive eBikes to have specs with higher NM than hub motor eBikes -- I assume becs of listing the torque through the lowest gear

Putting a larger gear will lower your torque and increase your speed . If you put a cassette of gears you would have different choices of torque vs speed but the motor torque might break your chain or cassette . Since the drive is on opposite side from gears side , that's not an option. Taking off fast with a larger sprocket will put more stress on the chain and maybe cause it to break.

Also, a type three bicycle can't go faster than 28mph and can't have a throttle. My 1000W Bafang mid drive got a type 2 sticker because it is limited to 20mph. I'm from USA and I think most Americans here want to help the country "Go Green" but they want the power of a motorcycle for their bike. They don't consider how things would mesh together on shared use trails with 160lb elderly walkers sharing the trail with 300lb riders on 100lb bikes going 40mph. These bikes should stay on the roads or on private lands for safety reasons. I'm 300lb and I shopped for the best climber to help me get up the 500ft elevation climb to get to my home from town.

@@gordonv2456 It's great to hear that there's a desire in the USA to go green and promote eco-friendly transportation options. If what you're saying is indeed accurate then here in Europe we seemed badly informed about the prevailing politics in the USA. I assumed, apparently wrongly, that the Republican Party and the current favourite Republican front-runner for the Presidency of the United States couldn't give two hoots about the environment. In any event, your concern about the use of powerful electric bikes on shared-use trails is valid. Safety should always be a top priority, especially when people with different abilities and modes of transportation share the same space. Electric bikes can offer a fantastic alternative to traditional bikes for people who may have specific needs like tackling steep hills, covering long distances, or accommodating different body sizes. However, throttled e-bikes shouldn't replace regular exercise in order to partially address the problem of obesity both in the U.S. and the rest of the developed world but more so in the U.S. than any other country.

Notice how low the watts is at wind-out max speed. So this motor could be considered < 500 watts. The law sets a max watts for motor at less than 750W. So an argument cud be made that this motor is street legal. The law has a limit on the motor's watts, not on the watts when they motor has some load or application! So seems to me that for legal purposes, the chain should be removed when the motor is tested. It wud have been helpful had you left it at top speed longer to validate less than 500 watts. I would like to know what watts Bafang engraved on the motor case. I think that electric motors draw max amps/watts at start up & minimum at wind out.

I didn't say it was... I said it was the most powerful motor I've tested and that was very clear in the video. Not click bait if it's true. 😅

Why does a powerful motorcycle have pedals? Are the classed as a bycycle in North America. Completely illegal in Europe

My bike is faster by far. 84V 12.5 KW 48AH Bomber E bike. 67mph gets near 70 miles on a charge. KKE Forks and Burner rear shock. Very fast and no problems so far. 2,800miles 2022 model.

Dual chain drive is dumb. Additional weight, parts to break etc. Plus we like the mid drive BECAUSE it has gears. This thing is a joke, built for speed only. We want power at low speed for trail riding and climbing, this bike will not do that, just go fast.

I think you missed the part where it has more torque than the other mid drives I've already tested, even with it's one speed.
