@@tightirl I can agree that it is somewhat over blown and almost treated as if it were an everyday occurrence but at the same time it's no joke when lithium batteries do burst into flames.
@the_socompsp5 жыл бұрын
@@tightirl lol no, just no. first of all pic or it didnt happen, second of all i guess what you are describing COULD be possible if,and only IF, just the OUTSIDE PLASTIC LAYER is punctured. batteries (lithium) are complicated things, as to say more complicated then a lead acid battery. both the chemistry and the physical layout are complex, if the two [internal] sides of the battery where punctured and came into contact with one another then it would cause a run-away chemical reaction that ends in a fire. Lithium is very volatile and violently reacts with many things, like water for instance. even in a lab environment it can be hard and dangerous to work with, it eats away at glassware, and then comes into contact with the air, which usually contains moisture and ends up catching fire. lithium fires are nasty and damn near impossible to put out, cause you cannot do so with water, even immersing the fire in an inert gas such as argon could fail to put it out, which is why it is common practice among fire departments to just let lithium burn itself out and to worry only about "exposures." so if what you claim to have done is true, i am almost certain that it WAS NOT a lithium battery, more likely a lead acid battery or a NiCad battery, both of which are far more stable to punctures. once again if you dont believe me you can try it yourself, although i really dont recommend as there are plenty of videos just here on youtube.

How's it a waste of money? Bosch is making a tidy profit, which was always the intention of the device. Oh, you mean for the consumer? Well, they have to get him/her/it to take the money out of the wallet and hand it over to much more needy organisations, like Bosch and their distribution chain, so they came up with something to lubricate such a transaction.
