The good old days. When making a visual record of a concert was a serious undertaking. None of your iPhone nonsense, this person probably had a camera the size of a shed.

This was the first Bon Jovi song that I learned to play on the guitar. First saw them live in 1985 opening for Ratt in the Omni in Atlanta, GA.

Richie does an awesome job at the beginning... as for Tico, I love how he just throws his drumsticks into the crowd and then continues drumming. Great performance!

They usually play Saturday night everytime I see them which is every tour. I was soo let down they left out Wild is the Wind in Atlanta.. Jersey is always special because they do make an effort to mix it up some.. Wish I could make it this year but am going to the M3 festival instead in May (all 80's rock)
@01po01po14 жыл бұрын
@veotis40 I seen them open for Ratt, same tour, Starlight theatre in Kansas City Mo. It was still daytime, They rocked, but you know how it is for warm up bands, people still finding their seats, not really paying attention etc....I sure wish I would've taken some pictures back then.

If you came for "In and Out of Love, although this is not a great video, go to 4:01 for the song. Up to that point it's just filler "show-off" guitar and drums. No offence, but if you want the song, 4:01

REVIEW OF THE BON JOVI SONG 'IN AND OUT OF LOVE' FROM THE ALBUM 7800' FAHRENHEIT. REVIEW BY DANIEL THOMAS ANDREW DALY: (This is my eighth review of songs from 7800' Fahrenheit, and the prior seven reviewed in order were 1) Secret Dreams, 2) King of the Mountain, 3) Always Run to You, 4) (I Don't Wanna Fall) To the Fire, 5) The Price of Love, 6) The Hardest Part is the Night & 7) Only Lonely.) In and out of Love. It's got the catchy guitar riff in the middle, where Richie is soloing away in early 80s hard rock heaven, and a kickass video clip where the boys are back in town, down on the beach, with hot girls and cool kids, and looking deadly. Of course, it was one of the singles of Fahrenheit, and it was a well chosen choice. It's made subsequent Greatest Hits compilations by Bon Jovi, the only thing from Fahrenheit which ever has, and its likely the biggest hit from the album with most fans. In and out of Love is a true message of the realities of tween life. When we go from lover to lover, always pledging oaths of loyalty, but just as quickly falling out of love and off to the next one. John obviously writes from the heart, and while he ended up marrying his childhood sweetheart Dorothea Hurley, one questions just how much 'flirting' around young John Francis Bongiovi got up to in younger years to know so well such realities. Likely quite a bit. It has an infectious guitar riff, one of the strengths of the big rock bands of the 80s, and while it was no insurmountable chart success of the time, it paved the way for the glories which followed the following year. It fits on the album - every song does - and has that Fahrenheit feel to it. It is young, passionate, full of life and vigour and, as us older dudes get older, we look back fondly when we were 'As bold as brass' and went for our girls without a care in the world. Me, personally, I had girls hanging around in my younger years, but I was no go getter, nor really still am. But it was indeed a lot easier then, with my long rock metal hair, and good looks, rather than the 42 year old, long beard, big gut 'old fella' I am today. Jon had all the looks back then, and was a heart-throb of the 80s. The message of this song, quite perhaps, was symbolic of the fashionings and stylings of not only Bon Jovi for that era, but all the big hard rock bands. It's a strong rock track - its not the biggest hit of 80s hard rock, and in all seriousness might not even crack the top 100 of such hard rockers from the 80s, but its a piece content enough to proclaim its basic message of living freely for love, and not really giving much of a damn about staying true (just yet) to the girl of your heart. It's a hard rock track - that can't be doubted - and while in recent years the band has mellowed somewhat from the passions of earlier years, it is just such passion, especially on Fahrenheit which has the exuberance and determination the young band had shining in it with an energy they have not really followed up with ever since. It is intense rock and roll, makes no bones about what it is all about and doesn't put on a facade of 'We're good Catholic boys', which they started searching for with 'Keep the Faith' and is all the elements of the youthful market they would have attracted at the time, a crystal clear picture of just what early Bon Jovi were all on about. When all is said and done 'In and out of Love' is a classic rock track, worth checking out for lovers of 80s hard rock, and it has an energy and enthusiasm which, once you get to know the girl well, will leave you wanting more. I rate it a 10 out of 10, and one of the better tracks of the early years of Bon Jovi, one which will always 'Get the party started.'

I agree the solo at the start was very good. In my opinion Ritchie is the talent in Bon Jovi and very under rated as a guitar player.But the drum solo if it was one was very very basic. If you were to take ritchie out of bon jovi they would be a basic band and probably would not have had as many hits!!Still graet energy though by jon
