Drove into St. Louis one Friday afternoon. Stayed at the round hotel across the street from Busch Stadium. 1985. Wasn't familiar with Bon Jovi. Heard about their sold out show on the radio driving in. Headed out to dinner. Got on the elevator with John Bonjovi, Richie Sambora and Rico Torres. They were my age, but dressed for their show. I introduced myself. They were very friendly and introduced themselves and we shook hands. I told them it was a shame the show was sold out. They said they would give me a pass if the had any. Too bad on missing the show. They said they were having an after show party on the roof and gave me a card to get me on the roof. It was a small quiet gathering, them unwinding from their performance. Got to speak with them for about an hour. Friendly, down to earth guy. Rat opened for them and were on the roof also.

I went to a pearl jam show in Seattle back in 2009-10. Was the start of the backspacer? Tour. Phones EVERYWHERE, even back then. I decided to get a little high in this group of screens. Pulled out some weed, took a puff and put it away...within 30 seconds, all of the real people came out of the woodwork. Old fans all the way up to a 70 year old lady congregated around me. Then the show felt real. I was in the middle of a group of real fans, no more screens. You shoulda seen the look on that woman's granddaughters face.lol.. turns out grandma was big in the Seattle scene throughout the 80's-90's. Knew ton of bands from mudhoney to green river. I love what you said about kids today going to events just to post on their social media, whereas back in the day it was all about the music only, and the creative artists who could write songs that will last forever. I saw Bon Jovi in concert many times in the 80's/90's. In the early days the crowds went wild, like they were on stage performing themselves. It was mass hysteria. Girls were passing out everywhere, people were leaping around and shouting uncontrollably. And in them days Jon left it all out there on the stage, only leaving when he phsyically didn't have the energy to do one more song even. It's a totally different world now, with so much less passion, heart and soul, for the music that truly moves you.

Drives me crazy seeing someone recording a concert and watching it on a 5in screen while the real thing is going on in front of them.I may be old (55) but when you go to a show I enjoy the moment. The feeling you get from immersing yourself in the music and the show will stay with you a lifetime. A vid doesn't even come close to "being there mentally". A perfect example is Pink Floyd live Comfortably Numb. The whole crowd mesmerized by the show and the song. No distractions (phone). I'm glad I got to see them 3 times and it was before phones because I would have been recording it and missed half of "The Floyd Experience." Put down the phone for awhile and enjoy real life if you can. Keep Rockin' the tunes Jamel. Love it!

A motorcycle is a steel horse. The song's title pays homage to Jon's admiration for Old West heroes, and how he identifies with them as being hated and loved at the same time ("wanted dead or alive", so to speak). During an interview on Inside the Actors Studio, Jon said he got the inspiration for the song early one morning when he could not sleep while riding in a tour bus. The "lifestyle of every rock band" was similar to that of outlaws in that each was, "a young band of thieves, riding into town, stealing the money, the girls, and the booze before the sun came up."

Good and bad. Two statements that get me every time, "...faces are so cold, I'd walk all night just to get back home" and "...sometimes you tell the day, by the bottle that you drink". It says that that life isn't all that it's cracked up to be...not by a long shot. They do it because they love the music, and they want to please the fans, but they have to do it to feed their family. I've been waiting for you to do this reaction. Thanks so much. Back in the 70's, If we liked a popular song(there were so many), we played the 45 or album over and over on a record player till we knew all the words by heart. Some would right them down. Forced us to listen and interpret the meaning. I have an Archive of music stored in my head that boggles my own mind. Lol. So grateful to have grown up at that time. 70's and 80's were the BOMB!

The one thing I don’t like about going to concerts in the smartphone era is the recording.

You are so right ! I saw Bon Jovi twice in the 80's, and I NEVER took my eyes off the stage or the people around me ! We were there to enjoy and experience every moment ! Have you done Bed of Roses ? Beautiful ❤️ song !

Richie's guitar solo kicks so much booty. The kick from the 12 String acoustic to the electric and tone he gets is INCREDIBLE.

I have seen Bon Jovi live 7 times and the first time was in 1987 when I was 16 and Slippery When Wet was at it’s peak. The last time I saw them was about 5 years ago. Just as good today as in 1987. This song was not used in a movie. Unless it was later, but it wasn’t written for one.

Hey brother, you're the best one on here doing these reaction videos. I was blessed to have grown up during the greatest era of music of all time. If I can help you in anyway feel free to let me know. I don't know everything, but I do know you love this great music that I had the privilege to have grown up with. I agree 100% we have to keep this music alive. I live in Indiana just north of Indianapolis. I was around 16 or so when the tragedy of the Edmund Fitzgerald occured up on the great lakes. It was in the newspapers for weeks here in the mid-west. You're exactly right, it was the excitement of seeing these great singers and song writers. It wasn't about being the 1st to post something on social media. This music has been hanging on by a thread for a long time. I'd love to see you review "Radar Love" sung by Golden Earring. Come on, let's get this party started!

This song wasn't "for" a movie but it has been in a number of movies/shows. Blaze Of Glory was written for Young Guns 2 in which Bon Jovi himself had a small role in. Both the movie and the song are on my list of favs. But I'd have to say my most favorite Bon Jovi song would be Raise Your Hands off of Slippery When Wet. This song also was used in Spaceballs when Barf is dancing around in back of the winnebago

You're thinking of the song "Blaze of Glory" by Jon Bon Jovi with Jeff Beck on guitar. It was featured in the western, Young Guns 2 w Emilio Estevez, Keifer Sutherland and Lou Diamond Philips.

@@jasontroia3434 Interestingly they originally wanted Dead or Alive for Young Guns 2 but Jon Bon Jovi said to them I'll write you a new song which turned out to be Blaze of Glory.

I’m from NJ. I saw them play in a garage in Sayreville in ‘82-83. Runaway was a great early song. He would attend the spring carnivals in towns years later and was so nice to everyone but people were also respectful and didn’t swarm him. Also ran into Springsteen a bunch since I went to high school in Red Bank (some of the girls in my class in the Born In The USA video). I also went to The Stone Pony and he’d randomly show up. Later on, in ‘02-03 he’d show up my beach club and was totally cool to fans. Good times and they were genuinely nice back then.

Dude, I grew up in the 80's listening to 80's hair bands, 70's classic rock n country. Watching your reactions to the music i grew up with and I still listen to each and every day makes me realize how lucky I was to grow up in two of best musical eras since music was first created. Thanks dude...
