This was, indeed, and old-fashioned love story, including a beguiling musical score right out of the 40's. As has been observed, Joe falls in love with every girl in the show at one time or another; but this is an early show, and Michael gives a commanding and seasoned performance here. It's distinctive from all his other involvements. A marvelous actor, indeed. He was in his early 20's in the episode. I admit to using my handkerchief!!

Shock, surprise, and love in bloom, and then the blossoming. This blossoming is marriage, the new paradise created with family, another alarming shock and the love goes to new depths of renewal and then the passing in love, happiness, comfort, and peace. The family is brought together for support and comfort while the pain is subsiding and the father and brothers bring wisdom and sanctuary to the shocked disturbed heart where love once reigned supreme with old dreams into new dreams of life moving forward. I wonder how she felt remembering this movie when she was starring in this movie with him. It seems kind of prophetic to me, only it was the man who was dying before his time. I think she was the best girl for Joe, most of them looked old enough to be his mother.

That's not true. I think the oldest woman he went out with was Julia Bulette, who was 12 years older than him, so hardly old enough to be his mother. He was 23 and she was 35. It's true he had no objection going out with older women because when Bonanza started Michael Landon was so young that practically everyone was older than him, anyway. Laura was definitely the best girl for him, though. She worshiped the ground he walked on and appealed to his loving and protective nature.

@@CathyKitson Laura best for him.🤔 I think his third wife much beauitiful than Laura even she was younger than him but Laura too young for him
@CathyKitson3 жыл бұрын
@@yasminenazarine1629 But Laura (or the actress who played her, Brooke Hayward), was only a few months younger than him. And when you say his third wife, do you mean Mike Landon or Joe? Because Joe only married once. Landon's third wife was not beautiful at all.

Total heartbreak, sadness, and despair. Some people obviously enjoy reveling in it, but that's not what I call entertainment.

Wow. The Cartwright boys are bad news for the women that they love. The women always die when their love is at its peak.

This episode was about the love chemestry between Laura and Joseph Cartwright. They want to get married but Laura's father Matthew didn't agree with it. At last Laura died by a disease and the story ends in this way. So heart touching and romantic story.I liked it.
