Bonding vs Veneers

When I was in first grade (age 6) I was prescribed some kind of Tetracycline based antibiotics. My teeth were stained and the ones in the back are the worst. I was presented with the option of bonding in 1983. I was told it would last around 7 years. Parents didn't like the option. I'm starting to understand leaving the original finish alone. I was quoted $24,000 for veneers last February after insurance paid it's part. Yes my teeth are stained although I know these 16 teeth in front will last a lifetime if I leave them alone. Just think how much money this would have been if I started this in 1983?

How much of the tooth would be filed down for a veneer vs bonding?

How do you decide on which one to get? Are there certain situations when you would recommend one over the other ? Om trying to figure out which one to do for myself!!

Kaitlin Mckenzie you need to have an exam and consultation with a dentist to see what your options are. After that they can tell you what is best for your situation. Also think about what look you are going for. What do you want to fix and that helps the doctor help you. Good luck!

Go for tooth bonding 🙄 really just go for it veeneers are temporary nd you can't even go back if u can go for braces this is the best option

I have been getting my two front teeth bonded since 23 yo - now 65 yo. Unfortunately the bonding doesn’t seem to be holding anymore so am considering veneers. My dentist does veneers and has been suggesting them for me but I’m not sure if he is the best for veneers. How do I go about finding the best professional cosmetic dentist to do my veneers and how do I address the issue of letting my current dentist know I am not going to use him to do them? I really like him and don’t want to hurt his feelings but I don’t want to spend thousands of dollars unless it’s going to be done well. Thank you for your response and advice.

Usually 2 appointments, first appt is about an hour, 2nd appt can take 3-4 hours

1.I was recommended my two front teeth to cover one with crown(root canal is fixed) and another to put a veneer. Do you think they would look ok as well as in terms close to the gum? I don't want to put 2 crowns because I don't like to trim the tooth;just want keep as much of the tooth is possible. 2. On each side (1 tooth) of those 2 front teeth I have already bonding that I need to redo. Should be new done bonding or veneers better. Each tooth on each side of 2 central teeth are fine and don't need any root canal treatment. The material was put because the cracked tiny after an accident. My main point I don't want to file down my feet and keep as much as possible, but at the same time I would like to redo all 4(2+2 above, central) since the material got used itself. And yes, now 4 all of them have old bonding old technology material.(1of them root canal fixed.) Could you please tell me from your experience acording to file down less what would you re do with if you would be in this situation?
