@@BondiVet I don’t know about that! They seem to like to chew on everything and would probably end up clawing and chewing up your furniture. After all, lions are still wild animals. They are definitely not house cats. When I was in South Africa staying at a game reserve, they had a young female about 6 months old whom I posed for a picture with. During the whole time she tried to eat my jacket, lol. She was a cute little thing though. I felt sad having to leave her.

I KNOW I've said this numerous times, but Chris and Scott have a connection with the animal kingdom that not everybody has. Not all vets have this particular ability, either. They don't just talk to their patients, they converse with them...they actually are tuning into them as living beings. They wait for replies..which usually come quickly in different ways, but both of them recognize the ear twitch, or head movement, etc., as part of the conversation. Some might read this thinking I'm out there, but many will probably understand what I'm saying. They joke with them, and wait for a reply...so natural as if conversing with a human. I LOVE THAT. We all see how the animals respond in trusting them, and appear to be understanding them. When they comfort a patient, they aren't just saying and doing comforting things...they are in the moment with their patient. Explaining to them, loving them for the sentient beings they are. Their vibes are tuned into animals. So hard to explain. It's like an empath can tune into other being's feeling...emotions. I would not be surprised if both Scott and Chris have this ability naturally. Perhaps they are aware of it as such, or perhaps they are unaware of it..I don't know. Neither of them have ever responded to my comments concerning this particular ability. Bondi Vet has responded to me about other comments..and very sweetly, too...but neither has addressed this observation of mine. No worries. It is just so obvious to me...but I am also a natural empath/telepath, so recognize it in others, quite easily, usually. Does anyone else feel that in Chris and Scott? With that said...again...😄..Zambi and Sabi are SO DARN CUTE together! Great idea, Chris! Chris is brilliant with ideas for behavior issues, and Scott is brilliant with gadget ideas for physical issues.

I'm a bit concerned about the lace monitor and his owner. These are solitary animals and owning 20 is really dangerous. It's known you can keep a few at a time, but they aren't pack oriented animals and they can be aggressive with each other in closed corners. The cost to maintain all of those animals in an adequate cage is something that would make even a millionaire weep. I understand he's a "lizard lover" but I don't find it safe or fair to the animals. They already seem like they are living in a stressful environment considering the damage done to the owner and the young lizard, which is done with purpose- not o accident. I hope I'm just being overly nervous but I found it important to point out and was surprised no one talked about that. Also water monitors do have venom, not bacteria ridden mouths that imitate venom.
@ettinakitten5047
@ettinakitten5047 Жыл бұрын
The fact that it's venom rather than bacteria is good news, because venomous animals are generally immune to their own species' venom.

I used to work at a reptile rescue center, and many of our animals came from hording situations. There was once a man who cried as we took his 10 water monitors that were crammed in a 30 gallon tank. So true that affection doesn't equal the ability to care for an animal.

I wish you could post pictures in the KZbin comment section because what just happened was hilarious and adorable. My two female indoor cats were watching the little lion cub with such curiosity, and when the little cub made those noises when Chris was rubbing Zambis scent onto her my two cats laid down but with both of their bums in the air. 🤔😂 It was so strange. If one of them did that I'd be like "aw! You wanna play with the little lion cub" but the fact that both of them did it and at the same time pretty much, I've never seen any domestic cat do that. It was like they was bowing down showing respect to a royal or something. 🦁🐯🐱

I dont know about labs, but scent tracking dogs are really good at differentiating between the actual scent that belongs to a person and a scent that was rubbed on them. I choose to believe that she just got the memo and wanted a new friend.
@ettinakitten5047
@ettinakitten5047 Жыл бұрын
If she's like my Lab, she probably would've reacted the same way without the scent trick. My Lab once caught a wounded squirrel and was just grooming it rather than hurting it. And when she's met puppies and kittens, she often rolls them over and licks their tummy if they'll let her. And she's not even a mother (spayed before puberty) so I expect the instincts are even stronger in a mama Labrador.

The first story almost put tears in my eyes because of the reunion and how happy and healthy Zambi was. I think the part where he was saying how great the surrogate mother was got to me! Unfortunately raccoon dogs aren't just hunted, they are breed at for farms, kept in cramped cages, then meet an inhumane and untimely death. It breaks my heart. So it's heart warming to see these siblings having been rescued. If this show is filmed in Australia, I wonder how they got them? The couple sound British so I'd be interested to know how they came to them. What's great is they clearly know a lot about raccoon dogs.

That's what I was thinking. Typically, it's a good rule of thumb to not house lizards with others that are a starkly different sizes, especially if the particular species is known to eat other reptiles and/or are known as scavengers, such as Goannas like what he has. The fact that he defied this rule/suggestion and ended up with a vet emergency, but then continued to house them together says that though he is a reptile lover, he's not properly housing them, which can/will more than likely will lead to another emergency. If he really knew the species, the two monitors wouldn't be in the same enclosure, even if they seem like they "get along."

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Don’t even know why an untrained individual would have so many huge lizards in the first place. I was wondering if he had a legal right to do so.
