As a dog trainer, I teach all the dogs I work with the basic commands plus: 1. DROP IT! Thats right, my dogs spit anything in their mouths out on command. That includes their favorite bully sticks and chews so that I can inspect them mid-chew. It is important that they understand that I give and I reward. 2. In addition, I never ever throw food on the floor for my dogs to eat. They are taught from the beginning to NOT put opportunistic food or objects in their mouth. Always feed them on a plate or bowl. And if they scarf something, refer to #1 above and command DROP IT!!! 3. I am the best finger sweeper and have retrieved countless objects from rescue dogs. If they dont drop it, my fingers go in their mouth and retrieve it. I dont recommend anyone do this without learning proper technique, so ask @Bondi Vet to demonstrate in a video.
@Loviekinz2 жыл бұрын
It also depends on the dog. 1 of mine knows I go in her mouth to remove things, so she will drop it....UNLESS she's loose outside. My other I can sometimes "trade" with food like a cookie, but I have 2 huskies, they are incredibly stubborn. One of mine ate some plastic, I spent the next 5 days checking poop until it came out lol

@@Loviekinz training cures. ♥ Also, they are showing you that they rule, not you. Huskies are awesome dogs. I love teaching them to speak in human language. Your dogs have you well trained to chase and trade. It doesnt depend on the dog. It depends on the owner and training.

Obviously I said OK

My cat was spayed at the animal shelter I adopted her from. They spay and neuter all the animals they get. But they put a small tattoo above the spay incision instead of clipping the ears. The fur grows around it so you wouldn’t really know unless you part the fur looking for it, but if Heaven Forbid they get lost, when their stomach is shaved the vet would see the mark and know they have been spayed already. It’s just an easy way to avoid unnecessary surgery and painless because they do it while the animal is still under. And then keep their beautiful ears
