Badger's passing is so sad, but it's good that this type of story is still included in the show. It's hard, but not everyone gets a happy ending, and those stories should be shown and remembered just the same as the others. It's the sad reality of the world that we can't ignore.

I lost a collie-mix to a slow-growing tumor like this. It was inoperable because of the area and the size when found. His heart and lung capacity were affected by it and he would not have survived the surgery. He was a happy boy despite the tumor and we decided to just let it go until his quality of life was too affected. He was over 12-years-old when I finally had to make the decision to put him to sleep.

That’s so difficult to do, I know that. My cat had a tumor in his mouth and at same point were he had to much trouble eating and just lying under my bed all day, we decided to go to the animal doctor for the last time with him, that was one of the worst days in my life!

Our sweet miracle cat died in 2020 of cancer. Miracle because at 7 weeks old, fleas were eating her so much that she only had 4% red blood cells. I had many people pray for her and she survived. She was healthy from then on (even had good teeth!) until she was 16 1/2 years old. Vet looked in her mouth and saw what looked like squamous cell carcinoma. Inoperable. That was April. She turned 17 in July and held on until October. She was so special. I loved her dearly.

My friend had to go out of town on a family emergency and asked me to look after him. He's 15 yrs old now and still with me. He's got kidney disease and he's on k/d for cats with kidney disease. So my heart goes out to the children now bereft of their best friend and the parent who had to break the news. Rescue hens are always up to mischief. Our dearest hope is to now be able to turn their home into into a fox/badger proof Fort Knox. A fox did somehow get in and my husband wouldn't let me see the result. Cookie reminds me of a white haired cat who we named Sugar. One day, while my Mom and I were baking sugar cookies, I opened the oven door and started to pull the pan of cookies out of the oven, when suddenly, Sugar JUMPED UP onto the HOT oven door! She slid off the door, all claws extended and screamed! My Mom immediately grabbed Sugar and ran cold water on her paws. Sugar' feet weren't burned, but she never did that again ! My Mom and I were more careful to watch for Sugar and future cats to make sure THAT didn't happen again!
