It seems Harry had cat Interstitial Cystitis which is incurable. I’m glad his problem with retention and spasms was solved with this surgery. Much of what was learned about IC for humans was first learned by vets treating cats and many medication treatments are the same. I’ve had IC for over 30 years and when one of my cats showed symptoms my vet listened and contacted a specialist I knew of at a teaching veterinary hospital to consult on treatment. She ended up on similar medications to mine for a short time until her symptoms improved.

Poor Harry. My late cat had an issue with crystals occuring in his urine, we had to go the same route. The big furry baby was the same from before the issue started, letting smaller cats boss him around and loving cuddles.
@litchtheshinigami89364 жыл бұрын
DragonLiili we have one that also had crystals but in his case he was lucky because we found out early (he had started acting differently and he would meow when we picked him up wich he never did) he was pretty young when he got them too.. luckily they were still small enough to pass and the vets gave him special hard food wich resolved his problem thankfully.. however my grandmother used to breed cats and they had one boy who also ended up going trough that surgery because of another disease (probably something similar to harry)
@rebeccahetrick65764 жыл бұрын
This is why every kitty needs a water fountain. It encourages them to drink more water because it filters, aerates, and cools the water and more water dissolves crystals or keeps them from occurring in the first place. So sorry about your furbaby.
@litchtheshinigami89364 жыл бұрын
@@rebeccahetrick6576 well we had a fountain our cats wouldn't drink from it though.. so it became a fresh bowl of water next to the sink that we fill up as regularly as possible.. we have one (the youngest though she is the only girl) who only really drinks directly from the sink.. if she sees you walk over she will look at you with her big green eyes and meow to tell you that she want's a drink
@katphish304 жыл бұрын
@@rebeccahetrick6576 No. 🤦♀️ Cats are prone to crystals or they're not. If they are, staying hydrated will help but not solve the problem. If they're not, they aren't going to get them. Not that a fountain is a bad idea, but it isn't some kind of cure.

It’s pretty common for vets in my area to come out to ranches and do mass castrations and things like that. For my grandparents, the vet would come out and do all the castrations on the bulls as well as check out the cows during their pregnancies and the horses and cats and dogs all in one day. Basically, any animal that needed attention, got attention all in one day. Saves lots of time and money

Ok I actually rescued twin gingers that had absolutely horrible beginnings to life. I received a call from a lady I knew who had picked up some abused kittens from her mother’s friend who had been abusing them and so the lady I knew took them. And I took both of them one for me, one for my husband called them Goose and Mav. They saw our vet the next day as we had to labradors and new cats and they were having well check ups and spayed & neutered.Less than an hour later I got a call from the vet said she needed to show me something legendary close like within five minutes I hadn’t really even gotten home so I turned right around and went back to the vet and she was waiting for me she had Clyde, not goose Clyde and Bonnie, not Mav. She had male genitalia inside and out and she also had female genitalia. And it didn’t matter how much I took care of her and Clyde. We love them they died in 2019 Clyde of FIP in 2020 Bonnie and bladder crystals and kidney disease.

i’ve seen quite a few of these lashes inside the eye. so for Bondi vets, it seems not to be “rare” and they always do great work. :) 🐶

Harry and his owner look so much alike. They literally are made for each other
