Listening to this song to help me to recover from wind And truth still crying
@crisisanagram39162 жыл бұрын
You know, I always come back to listen to this song because of how simple but layered it is. Maybe it's because of the repetition of the "You cannot..." phrase in the lyrics, but it shows that even in his worst moment, Dalinar stood up once more and continued walking forwards. He remained truthful to probably one of his most famous quote and took the next step. Maybe that was all he needed to rise once more as a better man, just like the third ideal states. This is a truly wonderful song that encapsulates Dalinar's stellar progression (and the "I am Unity" moment too).

I love this so much! It's so well put together and the moment that inspired it is just so epic. I've got just one thing - I think it would be super cool if there was a calm piano part at the end, just a piano slowly playing the main melody and eventually fading out. I've heard this done really well in the song Alchemist by Nathan Wagner and I think it would give an emotional ending to the song instead of just ending on the rising notes. But that is just my humble oppinion, I love it either way!

Oh, I and everyone else here would loooove to fill you in. First, thank you so much for listening and then taking time to comment!! Glad you enjoyed it!! If you’re at all into fantasy, then you need to check this author out. In my opinion, Brandon Sanderson is bringing the genre into a new era, and it’s unprecedentedly deep and thoroughly astounding. There’s not a single book of his that I have and gone “meh.” They’re all great. Specifically about this song (spoiler free!): Dalinar Kholin. He is a military man, an incredible tactician and a beast of a warrior. But his present life is increasingly overshadowed by a past full of great and terrible deeds done in the name of unifying his country, over which his brother rules as king. Dalinar is his brother’s sword in human form, used to bring the many territories of Alethkar together.... but by brute force. This song marks the moment at which Dalinar understands and accepts the responsibility for what has occurred in his life up to this point. Any more than that and I’ll spoil it!! If you’re at all interested, read the Stormlight Archive!!!

@@connorcastonguay3554, thank you so much for your idea!! Others have said the same thing over the past week, so I’m currently rereading RoW to get a feel for his arc so I can compose a song about him!

1. The song is great. 2. I really hate to be that guy because the art is beautiful but isn’t Dalinar supposed to be standing where the wall of the city was broken? Not in the field?

Thank you so much for listening!! And I’m so glad you enjoyed it. You’ve probably read it more recently than I have (it’s been well over a year, maybe 2!), so I’m guessing you’re right! :) Artist’s interpretation ;)
