Is the underside of the deck left open or is it enclosed?

We call the rebar ground spaces Castles, they are shaped on top to take bars running at 90 degrees to each other and this makes them look like a Castle :)

I am a custom Carpenter and make a lot of custom tables, cabinets ect.,. I do base, crown blah, blah! I believe you can solve your end grain issues with domino’s? Festool domino cutter uses loose tenons and they are much like the loose tenon piece you made and had the saw kick back? (Hint all small pieces need downward pressure to prevent the chattering). Lookup bread boards with a domino ? Then once you get an understanding send your deck company the domino and ask if they can make you a composite domino? You can make your own also! It’s an added feature that can make you money on a deck! Probably most decks maybe not all?

Dr one more thing!! See how your running your level between the two stair post trying to get your degree angle? Set your Martinez Speed square on top and pivot until level (bubble) and read your degree! U can do it w/o a Martinez however you hv one so I will skip it!

I wonder how much a very substantial deck like that costs stateside? Im in Australia, and in this country it looks like a $60 to $70,000 investment.

How do manage to get footing inspections when the holes aren’t dug, cages aren’t in…. Man by us… you best be done and ready to pour before even thinking of calling for an inspection. Although we have called for all inspections at one time with the deck sitting on temp A- Frames. After passing, throw in the columns, and done. Wish they all went that well.

Ah man, I have watched a few of your videos and always wondered where you were at and I see Bonney lake and I thought is he in Washington State, and you are. I’m up north, near Issaquah, how are you handling the increase wood prices? I just saw a 2x6x8 for over 10 dollars.

We’re paying just south of $10.00 for an 8’ DF 2x4 stud in Northern NJ, I’m also hearing it’s not going to get much better even after supply returns to normal.
