Yeah, most of the so called gun battles was shooting cops before they knew what hit them. But the last few gun battles was the real deal. Bear in mind alot of crimes they were accused of they did NOT commit. Town officials of alot of podunk places used their name for the fame. There were alot of people running around knocking over banks and gas stations at that time because they were starving and homeless. Not justifying it. It's just a fact.

And his time at Eastham Prison was horric. R*ped repeatedly by a prisoner twice his size. Clyde eventually killed him. Eastham guards used to get a bonus for capturing prisoners dead or alive. Guards would take a prisoner into the woods and kill him, then claim the bonus. When they told Clyde he was going into the woods the next day, he knew what that meant. So he chopped off two of his toes so he could stay in the infirmary. Eastham taught him to hate and he vowed he'd rather die than go back there.

They both look different in different pictures. I think Clyde doesn't even look at all like the same guy. One thing for sure, Clyde's face shows wear far beyond his years. People forget just how young they were. The civil war had only ended 60-70 years earlier. They were still talking to people who fought/lived thru it. Hostile feelings to begin with. A depression that left no hope to the already hopeless. Add that with youth and a twisted wire in the head and you have Bonnie and Clyde. You know they were very young and dumb. Desperate outlaws on the run and they keep taking pictures of themselves.
