I only recently discovered this song on a cd by Diana Krall. Randy Newman is like John Prine. Every time you think you have already heard all the good sons you discover another. Both are great American songwriters

Canadian singer Chantal Kreviazuk does the best cover of this song, in my opinion. This one is a very close second. Another version that will blow you away is Linda Ronstadt Dolly Parton Emmylou Harris. That trio is heavenly. Two other Canadians who do a great version of this is Diana Krall with Bryan Adams. Such a great song from a master songwriter, and so many great artists that bring it justice. Just beautiful.

I pulled this song up (and yes, Kurt up there, I don't care for the way they skip the 2nd verse either, but it was probably due to time constraints) because I realized, whoa, that, like, sums up the way I feel about my guy!
