I always notice the parents eat different from the kids. Why prepare two meals? I always taught my children whatever I cook is what we are all having. It always worked and they developed a taste for food that was prepared ever complaining about hating it. Just an observation.

P Peters Possibly because on this occasion the adults were having a date night together. There are many many vlogs where Bonnie, Joel & the kids eat together at the same time. As do Ellie, Jared & their children. It’s just on this occasion they wanted some adult conversation while the kids were asleep. No big deal really.

My kids normally ate what we ate. Sometimes though I would make something special and they wouldn't like it. Like if i did a shrimp/crab boil I would make them something special that they liked. They always had the option to have some of the adults dinner, if they wanted it. That didn't happen very often though.

texaslady1973 Much the same when I was younger, although my father was a farmer & I often ate later than most of my friends at around 7-7:30 from the age of 9/10 to eat with them, but sometimes if I was tired my mum would cook me a separate meal, or if it was food I didn’t like (often fish too) I’d have something different. I thought it was nice in this video that all the cousins had a lovely meal together after spending the day playing :) There’s certainly no rule to say children & parents have to eat together every evening. x
