I am subscribed on the your channel. I watch many video and many times I see that big trees almost have't roots very offen! Always grow roots in trees or not? Do you add fertilizers to them in the process of growing new roots or not? And why do not you use soel for large trees?

sir any tips for my bougainvillea? i have some cuttings and after a week shoots starts to come but then the week after they are all starts to die. what should i do? thanks!
@BonsaiIligan

+Jon Lionel Cariaso There is now very little chance if the shoots have died. Try other cuttings. This is my procedure; Better if applied with rooting hormone. Remove the leaves to minimize dehydration through transpiration. Bury deep either in soil or sand, container must have good drainage. Put under shade and do not move the plant. Sometimes even watering can move the plant especially if it is planted in loose sand. For my large truncheon cuttings I tie the plant in the pot with aluminum wires to stabilize them. When the shoots grows to about 5 to 6 inches long ease them out to the sun. Boogies can tolerate the sun better than my other specie. There are two major causes your cuttings can die. 1. is root rot and the other extreme is dehydration. so you have to be careful to water and know when is enough or too much, good drainage is a big factor in watering.

+Jon Lionel Cariaso This is the principle you need to understand in rooting cuttings. The cutting is living on its residual energy or stored energy only and has to build roots and foliage from that remaining energy. If you fail to grow roots and foliage on that remaining energy then it is bound to die as it will have consume its stored energy. The new roots and foliage should have to be functioning in order for it to thrive. Major Causes of failure can be root rot or dehydration, but other causes is also broken fragile roots due to movement even by just watering. Other cause is fungal attack, you can apply anti fungal like a diluted lime sulfur at the bottom of large cuttings.

sir can i bonsai any tree?
@BonsaiIligan
@BonsaiIligan 8 жыл бұрын
No some trees do not survive in containers. There are criteria to select materials. first is that it can survive containerization. 2nd is that it has a long lifespan, hard wood trees are better suited for this and most especially the tree can shrunk its leaves like "Premna" or has natural small leaves like Pemphis. To select material first thing to look for is a trunk thick enough and with character. Or if you are like you can find a nice Nebari (root flare).

@BonsaiIligan 9 жыл бұрын
+Totoy Tupak 1. use river sand sieve in two sizes, the bottom part is the coarser one as drainage layer and at the top the finer ones. 2. wash the sand to remove the very fine dust like particles and remove the too large ones. 3. Tie your material in the pot securely, I use aluminum wires. Your drainage holes must be large at least 2 inches in diameter. 3. put under shade and no sunlight. water frequently 3x a day.

Kung dili pa nimu matanum dapat e humol, better if with rooting hormone. but not necessary, the earlier it is planted the better chances of survival.
