is there any chance the banjo may have influenced rag time piano music, considering the banjo was in use before piano players came on the scene .....there no question boogey woogey influenced bluegrass ....or oldtime ....is there any research on banjo music before ragtime or boogie woogie.

Very good explanation of the history of boogie woogie vis a vis banjo and bluegrass in general. Awesome that you can do it on the banjo.

@@archiecairns2731 That was completely improvised based on the ideas I discussed, so unfortunately, no tab for this one.
@archiecairns27313 жыл бұрын
@@EddieCollinsMusic Hi Eddie I kinda figured you had improvised on this one, that's what you do with boogie woogie and a twelve bar blues, none the less if you have some TAB for the licks I would be happy to pay. Just remind me of your email address and I'll contact you direct. I just lost all my email contacts when Microsoft decided to upgrade Windows 10

Yes, the piano is the king of boogie boogie instruments. Some of the ideas here were taken from piano riffs.

Hi Eddie, I've heard the tune that plays at the beginning of the video a good few times from a lot of boogie woogie players, what is the name of that tune? Very interesting stuff!
@EddieCollinsMusic3 жыл бұрын
Harry, didn't take that from any one song...it is a variation of the basic boogie lick heard in thousands of songs. Glad you found it interesting.
