I generally believe that boogie got the first results that showed potential that he had cancer and got really really excited that he was a victim, so he was really easy to jump the gun before he got it confirmed.

Yeah, I think this too. Likely his check-up and regular blood test showed signs of polycythemia. Then doctors are going to order more tests and exams to figure out if it's polycythemia vera or secondary polycythemia. They'll usually refer you to a hematologist (blood doctor) to pursue confirmation after seeing symptoms, but may warn you that one is chronic. It seems there is a blood test results that diverges between the two types of polycythemia which is a test for EPO levels - very low EPO = polycythemia vera & normal/high EPO levels = secondary. The part that points to it being fake is him putting off a blood marrow test if his doctor said they'd need that to check which type he has. Like idk I can see maybe at most delaying for a year to save up money to cover the test but not 2 years while openly stating you have a diagnosis. Another thing pointing to him likely having the secondary polycythemia instead of the "cancer one" is because secondary can be caused by external factors like taking testosterone or having sleep apnea, which BOTH Boogie stated he is actively getting treatment for in multiple instances.

I never told anyone that I might have cancer til my Dr confirmed cause what if the labs results etc were caused by something else? My stepmom was diagnosed with stage 3 terminal brain cancer in 2014 with a 2% survival rate. She had a literal tumor in her head, and they didn’t need to do TWO BIOPSIES TO PROVE HER CANCER. It took a blood test and several other imaging and blood tests to determine whether she had it or not. Not fucking biopsy’s.🙄 She had brain surgery, and I promise you it’s not something you want to see or experience. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemies.

Fun fact: the blood hormone markers are not indicative of polycythemia vera only, they are produced by any mutation in the blood marrow that pumps out more blood cells. That's why the biopsy, to confirm it's the cancer and not something else, I bet the doctor told him 'you probably have cancer' and Boogie made it his excuse for everything. Also, you don't 'fight' polycythemia vera even if you have it, you fight the polycythemia, and you do that by getting your blood drained and pumping up on blood thinners, NOT weight loss drugs... You know why? Studies have shown that people who lose weight with polycythemia vera are more at risk of complications, multiple different studies correlate losing weight with a much higher risk of mortality. So no, not one doctor on the planet would advise a polycythemia vera patient to deliberately lose weight since unexplained weight loss is a big giant red flag for the condition getting worse.

Just saying, there are three major criteria to be diagnosed with polycythemia vera: 1. The first is a very high red blood cell count, which is usually identified by elevated levels of hemoglobin or hematocrit; 2. A bone marrow biopsy that shows hypercellularity and abnormalities in megakaryocytes; and 3. The presence of a mutation in the Janus kinase 2 gene. Low levels of erythropoietin can be a minor diagnostic feature, so in all likelihood - he doesn't have it. It would be very irresponsible for a doctor to diagnose without fulfilling the major criteria.
