i started meth when i was 13, cocaine when i was 15, ecstasy when i was 18. by the age of 22 my life was a complete mess because of addiction, i smoked heavy and drank heavy. but when i met my wife at the age of 23 i backed off a lil bit, starting to say no every once in a while. when my son was born i was 24. from the moment i laid eyes on him i decided to stop the addiction. it wasn't easy. but i made my son and my wife my motivation. and i did it without even going to rehab. then after i became sober i started to eat well. i was still drinking and smoking heavy at this stage. i ate so fucking well that by the time i reach 31 i became fat. then my wife started to look at me in a funny way. looked me in the eye and said "if you don't lose weight you are never gonna see me again". she meant that my life is in danger because i couldn't even go upstairs without catching my breath. so the next day i walked into the gym when i picked up my first dumbell it felt like i went to church for the first time and those weights my bible and the PT was the preacher. that day i quit smoking then started to back off drinking. it was gruel because of all the addiction smoking was the hardest one to quit. my wife and i used to fight when i got cranky because of craving for cigarettes. i left my kid and my wife with her consent of course for 3 months, i rented a small room. there i battled the craving alone so i wouldn't yell at my wife or anybody anymore. with that and constantly going to the gym without fail 5 days a week 2 hrs a day. now i am 32 and i am in the best shape of my life. anybody who sees me won't even notice the hell i have been through. you have to want it bad enough if you want to turn your life around.

Me too. I'm in the process of getting my abs back. My body looks fucking awesome . Feel better, and the changes are drastic. Wasn't fat, but chunky. I just need the booze to stop completely instead of 2 shots a day. But I'm exercising constantly, went lifting which really got me motivated. N I didn't eat much when i was a heavy drinker

After my husband died a dear physician friend suggested I get a fitness coach, because I was over 200 lbs. He recommended a woman who had been seriously overweight herself at one time. So I hired her for six months. Will never be a size 5, but a size 10-12 is healthy and fine for now. She helped me become a food snob. Now I LOVE fresh fruits, vegetables and like having friends who strive to be fit and healthy as well. Great support system. And NO not all of them are slender. But they are fit and healthy. Yep walking when carrying a lot of weight is HARD and painful. And I admit I HATE it at first. But then the endorphins kick in and the pain lessens and I am able to do five miles in an hour and a half. And yes its hard to realize that some foods I just cannot have. Like Dr Pepper. Dr Pepper is akin to a food allergy food for me so I have to avoid the stuff. And I simply have to make sure cookies, candies, bread are NOT in the home. Even if they are made with 'healthy' ingredients. So do what you can and celebrate the small steps. They say losing even ten pounds makes a difference. Thank you for your honesty.

Real good video bro. Keep up the good work. You will know more than any, the road is long and hard. Totally understand the willpower stuff. There is a difference between positive and negative willpower (doing and not doing). Also the stuff like still having to eat. Totally resonate cuz I used to have a porn addiction and it was not as bad, but you still sort of "need" to jack off after weeks and that can set it off. It's a vicious cycle; the more extreme you get, the harder it is to get balanced. take every piece of restored balance as a blessing. Your video really helped me to deal with my chronic insomnia. The patterns of illness are the same.

The one thing that does NOT help is when the body is in-cooperative for helping us loose weight because of the slow metabolism of those bodies. As for myself. I been guzzling food and shit loads of snacks and sodas. Back in 2000, I weighed 140 from all the exercise at the gym. I was thin and everything. BUT after marriage of my wife. As of 2014. I got lazy as hell. I have gained alot of weight. I now weigh 185..... BUT the thing for me. My body does NOT go over 185. My eating habits have been EXACTLY the same for the last 5 or so years. But yet, SOMEHOW, my body has NOT gone over 185. And funny, many people comment to me that I DON'T look obese in ANY way. So it seems that some bodies never really get fat no matter what! It's just too bad about some people who try to loose weight. Working their ass off just to lose a few pounds, And gain it all back WITHOUT TRYING!

The whole "I eat because I'm sad, and then I'm sad because I ate" thing is very much the same with any failing coping strategy that turns into an addiction. It is the same thing with being a drug addict. You do drugs because you are upset, and then you feel upset because you are a drug addict. It is a vicious cycle.

I miss him, SUPER funny and SMART like you. You get a million suggestions but I'll just throw this out there in hopes that you haven't heard it and I can actually possibly help you. Look into isometrics. You don't have to stand or lift weights you don't even have to move! You just tense your body and count for a few seconds then relax and just tense your different muscle groups, not everything. You burn calories and you don't have to exacerbate any areas of your body that hurt. We LOVE ya man and were pulling for you :)!!!

For people who think that obesity is purely a matter of being weak willed, ponder this. There are doctors, lawyers, engineers, entrepreneurs who have started lucrative enterprises, and college professors who are obese. These people, in order to accomplish all that they have accomplished in life, had to be enormously disciplined because you don't become a doctor, lawyer, engineer, an entrepreneur who has started lucrative enterprises, or a college professor without marshaling an extraordinary amount of discipline, and yet, even among such accomplished individuals, obesity persists. Secondly, ponder that, before the late 1970s, obesity was a relatively rare problem. Was there all of a sudden a collective loss of willpower across humanity near the end of the disco era? Both of these facts point to the fact that there is something more going on here than a character defect. There is something more going on here than a simple lack of willpower. It has more to do with a change in our food environment coupled with individuals who have addictions to food. As with other sorts of addictions, merely just berating an individual for not having enough willpower is an oversimplification of the problem.
@archlord3819 жыл бұрын
***** But an oversimplification still applies, and being too fucking weak to not get a large order of fries and an extra soft drink is pretty fucking pathetic to me.

It would be like comparing the willpower of an alcoholic to a non-alcoholic, and stating that the non-alcoholic has stronger willpower and the alcoholic is just "weak", because the alcoholic can't step away from the bottle of scotch. However, since the non-alcoholic has far less desire for liquor in the first place, can this really be a fair comparison with respect to willpower? In order for a comparison to be fair between just who has "weak" will[power and who has "strong" willpower, you must be able to determine that both people are EQUALLY tempted by the same substance, and then one was able to overcome that EQUAL temptation. I would argue that obese people, like this guy, and unlike you and I, has an addiction to fattening food that is every bit as strong as an alcoholic's desire for liquor. The food is far more tempting to him than it is to you and I, and because of this chemical impulse, willpower has very little to do with the issue. It has more to do with biochemistry and a poor food environment, which makes it easy for this person to succumb to temptation. No one would live in a state of pain, immobility, and lack of energy, that comes along with being so large, if such a fate were merely determined by willpower. People like this need counseling, and possible medical intervention, not our derision.

***** people aren´t necessarily disciplined across the board or undisciplined across the board. Just like they aren´t necessarily smart or dumb across the board. Somebody can be totally disciplined when it comes to certain things, but out of control when it comes to other things as well as totally realistic and down to earth in some areas but delusional in others. I think you are also right about the environment having changed in a way that makes obesity more common.

I'm sure it was very painful for you when you were growing up because we all have been in school and understand how cruel/evil teenagers can be to others. But the fact that you still have grown up to a point in your life where you understand where you are and where you wish/want to get to. And my suggestion is keep going!!!!! Not for the Assholes who made fun of you, not for Anyone but YOU! You will slip up but dont let that get you down! Take Care Best of Luck and Focus on you!

I've seen a couple of your videos where you played a character. I'm glad I finally saw you talking normally and about something that is really important. I was surprised and thankful for watching this. I agree with what you're saying and I guess I'm late to this party as you posted this 2 years ago.. but I hope things are looking up.

It's hard to do it on your own. I couldn't, so I decided to get the RNY gastric bypass surgery. It's been 3 months and so far I'm down 60 lbs in 3 mos. It was worth it. Check out my WLS vlog and progress on KZbin at Valerie Chowdhury. Good luck to you.

MY mom and sister got the gastric bypass. My mom was 600 at her highest, and is 180 now, my sister was 400 at her highest and 160 now. They are both still hard working, and maintaining when they know things like Thanksgiving or the winter months are coming (aka potentially eating poorly or little to no exercise). I wish you the best!

Being obese makes it so painful to exercise that you just don’t wanna do it. You have to be incredibly strong-minded to beat this until your body starts to respond positively.

I could never dream of making fun of someone obese, personally I do not experience depression but I have witnessed family members that have. I cannot imagine the pain, and its even worse online I remember the one and one time I was ever bullied and someone called me weak, I ended pushing them down the stairs and broke his arm. I am thin and walk several miles everyday not for healthy reasons, but just because I like the outdoors and I am almost on the line of being way skinny. I found this channel in hopes of finding help for one of my friends in this type of situation. I seem to make it worse because in person rather than online I bring everyone's demons out of the closet when I am questioned especially in public. And my friend told me that makes it worse because I attract attention aka in the store, mall etc. Nice to see this video I suppose it helps me learn more about her life.

How did you loose 45 pounds? I really wanna loose my goal is 63kg which means I have to loose around 66 pounds but is really difficult :(
@godotfrued121210 жыл бұрын
People with higher body fat % tend to lose weight faster because it's excess fat that they don't need and their body is reacting to exercise and dieting easier. For example someone who is 400 pounds will lose more weight over the same amount of time than someone who 200 pounds would.
@TamaChan180L10 жыл бұрын
haha thats actually really helpful thanks :)
@psionicinversion10 жыл бұрын
TamaChan180L that is true the heavier you are the easier it is to lose weight... the closer you get to your ideal body weight the harder it is to lose it so it starts off easy then gets alot harder as you close in to you ideal BMI
