Chris is on point. Part of the Monomyth /Heros Journey (that a lot of Star Wars is based on) is that the hero first must reject the Call to adventure (or in this case Jedi training) before changing their mind. So if Grogu chooses the armor, he will likely return to Luke later anyway. When you think about it, you could include Han Solo in that list who first rejects but changes his mind when he first just want to get paid but then returns to help the rebels out blowing up the Death star

It's going to be kind of disappointing if this entire global history of the shows ends with: "oh, and by the way, the Empire is back with a new name, so everything that's been accomplished so far was for nothing".

@@Ratchet2431 Well the whole thing with the “First Order” vs “The Resistance” never made sense to me. Why couldn’t they have maybe called it First Order against the New Republic? It’s bad enough they stuck everything on Hosnian Prime because Disney wouldn’t let Abrams blow up Corruscant, but that’s what we ended up with. But if you run a storyline similar to Heir to the Empire with Thrawn bringing back the Empire (or trying to) much in the same way he did Heir to the Empire. They can setup a story line where they can lay waste to the New Republic and what’s left of the New Republic ends up being the Resistance. It makes sense really. They had Republic forces during the time of Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett, but you don’t hear of New Republic Forces in the new trilogy. They’re all just “Resistance”.

Now that Luke isn’t a secret, they can hire a bigger and more experienced team to do him. Mark Hamill was also brought in and did all the same scenes and a young luke body double did the same. Mark also did the voice which they de-aged.

C'mon, Marketa. Jedi ALWAYS took in kids that were too young to decide for themselves. Even Anakin back in episode 1 was considered too old by the council to be admitted to the order and were hesitant to take him in because Jedi didn't like taking in kids that were old enough to have formed personal attachments. Their point was somehow proven back in episode 2 when Anakin lost his shit but I digress. Luke, right now, is still devoted to the old ways and he's still about to make the mistakes that'll eventually lead to his downfall. The only difference is, he's actually giving the kid a choice to back out this early.

No it's not shitty. Luke wants to do it as early as possible so that he doesn't waste anyone's time (Mando and Grogu and his own). It does make sense in that way. If Grogu wants to go with Mando then it's best that he goes with Mando to prevent dark side force user from coming up again. If he wants to go with Luke then it has to be all the way.

I almost feel like Luke is testing Grogu to see how much he actually desires to become a Jedi (earlier he said something like “his heart’s not in it”). If Grogu chooses the lightsaber, I’m quite confident that Luke will give him the Beskar chainmail too. We’ll have another Mandalorian Jedi eventually

Luke has no right to make Grogu choose between the armor or the light saber. The armor was a gift from Mando to Grogu. He should get it no matter what his decision will be. If Luke withholds it from Grogu, then he’s acting like a thief. The intention of the giver (Mando) should be honored.

That's probably why the delivery is so flat. He has to do a lot to make his voice sound younger and/or make easy to edit into a young sound. That... and i feel like a lot of the ADR/Overdubbing in this series has felt off. Like they obviously have to do the voices for most of the characters after the fact, but all the voices that are supposed to sound natural straight up sound like the recording booths they were recorded in.

The thing with Luke is, he abandoned his training because of his strong bond to his friends in Empire and what happened? Vader whooped him all over Cloud City and he got his hand sliced off. So it makes sense why he wouldn't want his students to go through something similar or worse.

While that's true, it's also important to keep in mind that Luke later abandoned that particular teaching of the Jedi because his bond to his father is what ultimately brought Vader back to the light side. The Jedi forbid personal attachment because attachment means fear of loss, and fear leads to the dark side, but they failed to see that this is a two way road and attachment can also be the thing to bring someone back from the dark side. And ultimately, that's why they failed. If they had not held on that belief and actually tried to help Anakin with his fears about Padme, instead of scolding him for abandoning the Jedi ways, he might have never turned into Darth Vader to begin with.

First of all, what kind of a life can the _Mandalorian_ offer _Grogu?_ I imagine _Mando_ would probably like to have _Grogu_ with him, but that's certainly something you should ask the _Mandalorian_ before telling _Grogu_ he can go back to him. 🤦🏼‍♂️ Ultimately it's just like *Marketa* was saying, he's helpless. So he's not the only one that needs to be in on this decision. The theme song is inspired by the Swedish saga Ronja Robbersdaughter / Rövardotter. Again like a Mandalorian episode, so it's weird. But such a great episode, wow. They really improved the deepfake, only complaint is the voice was quite monotone but that's ok. I teared up when Luke was jumping with Grogu on his back. But the transition after the explosion was weirdly abrupt, whole scene was too quick... The choice better be a test, he can have both! But yeah, if only one, then I don't know either. Cad Bane I had no idea about existing, but he looked sooo good.

If u relook at it frame by frame u can see that Cobb reacts to the blaster bolt before it hits him. Either reacted too early when they filmed it or maybe foretelling that he was bracing for the shot as it was coming meaning he's probably not be dead. He also turns over after he gets shot :). I think Luke might be testing Grogu like Ashoka said. Lukes' intention might be to let Grogu choose and if he chooses the lightsaber Luke will know that Grogu is serious and may still give him the armor at some point.

I think Luke is influenced by Ahsoka's stories of his parents, and it's driven him more conservative. Also, he has no big council around him to soundboard with. His lack of confidence is something I truly love about his portrayal here - he's on his journey of discovery still.
