Man, it sure would be nice if Luke held himself to the same standards he's holding Grogu to. Grogu needs to choose the life of a Jedi or a keepsake from what is essentially his father. I also have to give Dave Filoni a massive respect shout out! He KNOWS what fans want. He is respectful of the history that George created and the love the fans have for this franchise. That said, Luke was incredibly well done. The scenes were a cool call back to Dagobah. The Cad Bane coming in like Lee Van Cleef coming for Clint Eastwood gave me chills. @@ZacksRockingLifestyle Wasn't the same Luke. Luke here is very idealistic, especially with trying to re-create the Jedi Order. His own attachment to that ideal was why what he tried to do didn't work. The Luke in The Last Jedi went through some stuff, so naturally he wanted to distance himself from that. People can't expect these characters to be one-dimensional and not have character flaws or show growth and progression. That's why I don't understand the vitriol that Boba is receiving as well: he doesn't want to be a bounty hunter, yet people have this attachment to what he was in the original trilogy and expect him to be on some Cad Bane type stuff.

In the final episode of Timothy Olyphant's series, Justified, there was a hired gun whose trademark was go for the head. In a standoff in the middle of a road the two shot each other and the hired gun, Boon, went for the head. If I remember correctly, he shot Raylan in almost the same spot that Fett has that dent. Raylan survived because he wore his hat "high" so the bullet just creased his skull. Boon was dead because Raylan shot for the body. It's all very interesting in parallel. After Ch5 Return of the Mandalorian I had to return to Mando’s origin for another run through. Watching the episodes and your breakdowns one by one, your S01E03 review aged so well. • Callouts to Clan Vizsla and the history of the Darksaber to include mention of Bo-Katan. • Din and Paz’s first on screen skirmish. • ‘The way’ of the Mandalorian covert being fleshed out. • The roots of Din’s strong feelings towards droids considering the modification to the droid port on his new N-1. This just goes to show the quality of your work and we appreciate it!

I love these series. Mando completely exceeded my expectations. And "Obi-Wan" is on the way! It's great to see back-stories, as well as progressions of all the things we always wanted to see (but never thought we would). I'd love to see Luke, bulls-eyeing womprats in his T-16, in Beggars Canyon, as well as his adult life. Did Luke have missions, like his father, during his adult years? He learned how to kick ass from somewhere. I really wanna see how Darth Vader spent his days after Luke destroyed the Death Star. I'd love to see the Bothan spies sacrifice before the battle of Endor, or the events surrounding the Palpatine's child & the murder of Rey's parents. It's amazing that a 1977 sci-fi movie would go on to spawning a completely new world of imagination. It's as if George Lucas uncovered an ancient civilization, and brought it back to life.

An added easter egg is that the sound they used as Cad Bane was walking up the the town is also extremely similar, if not exactly the same, to the soundtrack being played in episode 3 scene right after Anakin is told by Mace Windu to stay put while he handles the emperor. Then leaving Anakin to debate his if he should save the emperor from Mace. No clue what the tie in would be for using the same sound but its immediately recognizable once you listen to both scenes.

MY HUGE THEORY: Boba has claim to the Darksaber because Jango beat Tor Vizsla for it in combat, and then the saber ended up back in clan Vizsla wrongfully, hence the curse and where it started. Boba is also Heir and rightful Leader of the True Mandalorians through Jango Fett(adopted son of Jaster Mereel). Therefore he is "Mand'alor by blood/right". And Tatooine(Boba's Palace) becomes the new base/covert for Mandalorians. Now that Cad Bane appeared(I predicted he would appear for this specific reason), he could defeat Din in combat for the Darksaber and hurt him pretty bad(NOT killing him) and then Boba (with his beskar armor) could defend himself against the darksaber and then could DISARM Cad Bane with his custom Gaffi stick, I'm sure that is the special meaning behind it and he also has TUSKEN FORM to use the Darksaber. But if not Cad, then someone else possibly? I have my little breakdown chart, and we need to get the Darksaber back to Boba(Jango's clone/heir) because Jango was technically the last rightful winner of the Darksaber. This needs to happen without any conflict/combat between the Din and Boba. This would the easiest/safest way to get the Darkaber from Din back to Boba. A third person needs come into the picture. It adds up perfectly I think because it also creates that personal backstory between Cad Bane and Boba(some of the deleted scene from The Clone Wars could be made canon somewhat!) Din also gets hurt, because his character struggling in this stage of his character development(growing pains). We also get Legends Fan service and Dave Filoni's character(Cad Bane) gets his fir here. What do you think? 🤔🤓
@georgetrapp66662 жыл бұрын
I think that if you are not exactly right, it's still a very good story. Have you read the Star Wars comic that is done sort of like "Marvel's What If?", where Luke dies in the events of ESB and Leia trains with Yoda, confronts Vader only to turn him from the Dark Side, and he survives and emerges in fully white armor and clothing? Yours sounds like a very good version along similar offshoot timelines. That is, if you have not predicted the actual outcome.

A brilliant episode just setting everything up for the grand finale. Really enjoyed these Star Wars series'. I have massive faith in the show creators that Obi Wan and Ahsoka will be just as good as The Mandalorian and the Book of Boba Fett. Luke giving Grogu a "choice" between lightsaber or armor was very similar to the Japanese Lone Wolf & Cub story... which the Mandalorian story mimics. A Samurai gives his son a choice between a toy or a sword. If the baby goes for the toy, he sends him to his mother (in heaven)... if he goes to the sword.... he wanders Japan as a ronin with his Samurai father. Jedi are like Samurai. Similar arc.

Best easter egg at 6:02 when Mando lands the N-1 starfighter and it looks like R2 is in the droid seat

Episodes 5 and 6 were amazing. I loved getting to see Grogru training with Luke, and I hope we do eventually see a flashback or learn who rescued him from Order 66. I think Grogru at this time will pick to continue his training with Luke and go on to carry Yoda's old lightsaber. That being said, in the future, I definitely think Grogru will leave his training and join the Mandalorian again and that is how we ends up being spared from Kylo Ren.

I'm saying right now I believe Grogu will be the wielder of the darksaber and The Ruler of Mandalore.

No way. It's going to be Fred from that town on Dantooine. He's the coolest Mandalorian ever.

Being that there is over 2k worth of comments, I don't know if anyone referenced this. The scene with Grogu having to choose between the chain mail and the Lightsaber was definitely from 'Shogun Assassin.' Which was also done with Jet Li in 'New Legend of Shaolin.'
