I think a more important question than who saved Grogu, is how he/she lost Grogu. For instance, if Mace Windu or Yoda got Grogu out of the temple, then how did they lose Grogu when they were two of the most powerful Jedi at the time? If it was R2D2 who got Grogu out, then why did he leave Grogu, and why didn't he tell anyone ells about him? That doesn't sound like something R2D2 would do. The most obvious explanation is that Jocasta Nu got Grogu out, but then realised she was hunted by Vader, forcing her to hide Grogu. With Vader then killing Jocasta Nu, Grogu lost his connection to the force because of PTSD and eventually got discovered by a bunch of mercenaries who had no idea who Grogu really was, leading to Moff Gideon hearing of Grogu as 'a force sensitive child' and the story picks up where The Mandalorian begins.

But R2 was with Padme and 3PO. Plus wouldn't have been allowed access to the Temple without a Jedi Present. Even if he had a Message the person recieving said message would have had to come and personally greet him. From the Senate residence at the time of Order 66(which R2 would have absolutely HEARD) there still isn't time for him to have made it to the Temple before Anakin and the 501st who were setting up perimeter before the assault and waiting for Anakin to arrive for orders on taking the Temple. And wouldn't have allowed R2 in. And then to escape, hide Grogu, and be back at Padme's side even in the many hours of the assault on the Temple. Remember the VERY next morning Obi Wan and Yoda were already back on Coruscant(the Outer Rims a roughly 3-4 hour journey BOTH made as soon as feeling the disruption in the Force.) And while the Battle for the Temple was raging. They arrived while the still smoldering ruins of the 501st were still trying to secure the Location, while Palpatine was addressing the Senate. Unlikely for R2 as much as he is I believe instilled with the Force, and possibly even some secret info about the Jedi Temple to have pulled off such a stunt. And 3P0 and Padme would want answers. And R2 though reticent would have been forced to break the News to Padme about Anakin before Obi wan arrived to tell her what Anakin had done. It's too much failure of continuity with existing Canon.

Yoda was able to hide himself on Dagobah using the force. 2 powerful force users on 1 planet would have been really risky.
@ghostbravo71272 жыл бұрын
No, remember that Dagobah isn't just some nice planet, it is a terrible dark side planet that usually melts the minds of those who try to live their. Grogu was very young, and in his infancy state growing his force powers, so such a powerful dark side influence would be terrible for the young Jedi. Yoda himself, despite being insanely powerful, started losing his mind partially due to the dark side influence of the planet. People always forget, that Yoda was not the last of his kind in the movies, they clearly show both Yoda and Yaddle on the Jedi counsel, presumably the last of their kind, so Grogu could be the secret child of Yoda and Yaddle, which would make sense, as it would be very unwise to cause that kind of unrest in the Jedi order by revealing that the Jedi Grandmaster himself had a kid with another council member. This would also make sense, as Yoda may have felt a need and duty to preserve his species, knowing of some darkness coming, which he had not fully identified at that time but had stated that he felt would change everything. So what do you do before going into almost permanent hiding, you hide away your kid who everyone would want if they knew he existed, in a location that nobody could ever look, and where there would always be security. Clearly his existence was very secret as only the fringes of the empire even knew he might exist, so he was likely hid initially by the most powerful Jedi himself, Yoda, for only he could mask the tracks, existence and training of such a powerful being. With Yaddle dead, and Yoda gone, Grogu would likely block himself off to protect himself, even more so when you realize that he has been hidden for decades.
@mediumfast2 жыл бұрын
@@ghostbravo7127 Firstly, Yoda's species isn't known to be on the verge of being extinct. They seem to be extremely rare, but so little is known about them that it's likely they have always existed in such small number. But now that we have Book of Boba Fett Chapter 6, its interesting to note that Grogu seems to have no idea who Yoda is. Luke talks to Grogu about Yoda and there is no indication that he recognizes the name or description. It's possible he just can't remember and Yoda made sure to keep his distance. But this does make it unlikely that Yoda was his rescuer, since he appears to recognize R2, who he would have seen as recently as order 66.

I wonder if Yoda’s constant emphasis on “letting go” and “not holding attachments” is because Grogu IS Yoda’s son and in order to protect him from being targeted as Yoda IS the Grand Master and therefore always going to be a prime target of the enemies of the Jedi, he HAD to seperate himself from him and keep him secret?? He kept bringing it up because it was the very thing he struggled with and his biggest secret weakness, therefore he saw the dangers that exist for any Jedi that is susceptible, him being included?? Being from Yoda's species do not escape infancy for the first 50 years of their life (around Grogu's current age in the show) after which their force abilities have developed quite a bit and they start growing at what is a more normal rate for them, reaching maturity by 100 and their prime by around 300-600. So Grogu is just now beginning to develop into what would be a true youngling, although he would be a very powerful one due to how his species operates.

It’s also possible that the Jedi council would’ve entrusted R2 with knowledge of secrets within the order and even emergency protocols in the event of an attack on the Jedi Temple. While, yes, a lot of people underestimated his intelligence there were also several missions in the clone wars where he proved his mettle to notable council members including most notably Windu and Plo Koon. It would be entirely possible that in the moments when R2 was separated from Anakin the Jedi council gave him specific orders or protocols to follow that Anakin would not be aware of. This would make sense due to R2’s proximity to Anakin and the council’s distrust of Skywalker as well as the fact that the Council would’ve recognized and trusted R2’s uncanny ability to clutch up in adverse situations based on their previous experiences with him.

I'd like to think that no Jedi would specifically single out Grogu for saving, while leaving the other younglings to die. They'd try to save as many as possible. That being impossible, saving Grogu would have to be at least partly happenstance, or will of the Force, or plot convenience. Grogu simply being in the right place at the right time. Jocasta Nu makes the most sense in that case. But another possibility is one or more of the younglings not seen in the movie, but whose fate is still unknown, such as those from "The Gathering" arc. They could have escaped on their own, with any other younglings they ran across in the process, which might have included Grogu.

I've thought alot about this since that season finale and even started a small fan fiction about it, I think it's a combination of all of the above. As Grand Master Mace would know of Grogu, so upon learning of Palpatine's status of being the Emperor, sent message to Jocosta Nu of what's going on and if things when bad, left her instructions. Anakin arrives and R2 knowing Anakin has gone darkside, intercepts the message, leaves Anakin and goes to the archives. Jocosta Nu at this points has sensed the purge in the force and begins to make plans when R2 appears. She then entrusts him with with being the new scribe of the Jedi, locking away those memories until set parameters unlock them even if his memory is wiped, information that includes Grogu. She then leads R2 to to Grogu's secret chambers so R2 can get Grogu to someone she trusts to take Grogu away in secret. R2 takes Grogu's pod to this person and they sneak off planet during the chaos. Jocosta Nu, leaves a secret message for Yoda entailing what happened and that Grogu has been taken to safety to a secret meeting point and Yoda then feels confident enough to go after Palpatine. For the Mace theory, there’s a lot of evidence that supports it. For example, when Obi cuts Maul in half on Naboo, Maul falls down and does all this and that and eventually finds himself on the junk world that Savage finds him on. When Savage found him, Maul literally used the Force to bind all kinds of materials to him to keep him from bleeding out/dying. So there’s no way that Windu isn’t alive. There’s also many other Jedi and Sith that have had far more done to them while falling too. So it’s far likely that he’s alive than dead.

20 years in the military taught me that "Simple is always best and probably correct." The simplest explanation would be that Anakin storms in tells the non Force sensitive janitor, "You are not a Jedi. Get out!" And, the janitor simply carries Grogu out in his backpack. Not being sensitive, nobody looked for him, and that is why we have not heard about Grogu until now. It is also why Grogu has not advanced in using his powers. I just thought of something. The Jedi at the Jedi Temple would have been alerted by Master Shaak Ti and their own connections to Jedi elsewhere in the Galaxy. Think about it. ORDER 66 was instantly executed by clones in the field. However Anakin would have had to GATHER the 501st, Get to the Temple, set up a perimeter and then begin the massacre. The Jedi at the Temple would have already known the threat was coming. Jocasta Nu and Grogu were probably GONE before the 501st even showed up. I believe Jocasta Nu probably entered and left several times during the assault. Through secret means. The youngest younglings INCLUDING Grogu would have been priority as much as Holocrons. Just saying, there had to have been a gap between the immediate deaths of Aayla Secura, Plo Koon, Ki Adi Mundi, etc and the attempt on Yoda and the at least ten or fifteen minutes later assault on the Temple. And we still don't know if one of the Jedi's greatest masters and master of disguise Quinlan Vos had yet beem reassigned. After Dark Disciple and his near death saved from Dooku lightening by the sacrifice of Ventress and his return from the Dark Side he may have not yet been placed back on assingment. Shaak Ti might have ordered him to save Grogu, and after all a Jedi better known for the outer rims underworld like Quinlan would be a perfect choice for HOW Grogu ends up in the Outer Rims anyways. Just a theory.

@@kenpoarniceguy1 that was well before Grievous assaulted Corruscant and Anakin killed Dooku in Palpatine's rescue operation. It is also in Canon that he and his troops successfully defeated Seperatists as Boz Pity then joind Yoda and Chief Tarfuul on Kashyyk where he would have been at time of Order 66. Except they didn't actually decide to put that into FILM or CANON. Therefore, it's just as Likely that Yoda upon word of Dooku's Death and the tide of the battle on Kasshyk shifting in Republic favor would have decided to send Vos(who was still under careful watch of the Council after his dark side antics in Dark Disciple) back to Corruscant and let's not forget in hyperspace the trip from Kashykk and other areas like the Outer Rims took less than an hour. MORE than enough time to have Quinlan returning to the Temple with days to go before Order 66. Quinlan DOES NOT end up on Kashyyk AFTER Order 66 though(which would have been storyline continuity if he didn't have reason to be elsewhere) he is NOT present with escapees from the Temple on Coruscant who fled to Kashyyk to find Yoda, NOR is he amongst those like Luminara and other's who were also present on Kashykk at the time of Order 66 and survived who Vader tracks down, and slaughters all but Luminara who he takes prisoner as bait for other Jedi back on Corruscant. So the storyline is one that doesn't explain his abrupt manages to survive Order 66 with NO definitive explanation or location, YET isn't on Kashyyk which was HIS LAST KNOWN canonical whereabouts. Highly likely Yoda had ordered his return to the Temple as the Masters and Knights were already stretched to thin with the multipronged Separatist sieges in the Outer Rims. We don't have definitive info and he magically ISN'T on the one planet he should be at the time of Order 66, Kashyyk right there with Yoda. Because THOSE two were commanding a bulk of Republic forces on Kashyyk whilst Luminara was running the Medical Care divisions. The two of them should have been together with Chewbacca and Chief Tarfuul at the moment of Order 66 YET HE'S MYSTERIOUSLY absent. The tide of the Battle had already turned upon word of Seperatist retreats, losses, and Dooku's death. The wookies would win, Yoda knew this. And that actually was days before Order 66 still.

Therefore I still think that with the crappy canon thus far for Quinlan Vos being on Kashyyk with Yoda after his first return to the field as a Jedi after Dark Disciple, and considering he ISN'T on Kashyyk standing with Yoda when Order 66 goes down, and that he also isn't with the survivors that Vader tracks down and slaughters only to take Luminara as bait for the Empire, IT'S LITERALLY not out of the possibility that Canon between a week before Order 66 could still change, that upon Obi Wan's tracking down Grievous on Utapau, that the most acquainted with, master of disguises, criminal underworld mastermind Quinlan Vos off of a fresh trip to the Dark Side and back with new faith after the loss of his love Ventress would be the perfect candidate for Yoda to have sent back to Corruscant JUST in time for Order 66. Shaak Ti would have already had the Temple on full defense mode, and Jocasta would have already had a 30 minute smuggling window for KNOWLEDGE(AKA more precious than any single one life, even a CHOSEN ONE) THAT would have been her 100% focus. It would have been other Jedi who would have smuggled out Grogu and Younglings. Too many people are taking the Grogu vision as it's his own eyes. What if it's him through the force just seeing through someone else's. If it's NOT Mace Windu, or a reassigned Quinlan Vos whose story has been conveniently FAR too quiet in recent years post Dark Disciple, then maybe it's a Jedi we've yet to learn of. I still think until I have some evidence of different the master of the Outer Rims Vos is exactly the perfect explanation for how Grogu would wind up there. Even Vader wasn't looking for a LOST or UNACCOUNTED FOR Vos. Yes Imperial transmissions and paperwork hinted he survived the Purge, HOWEVER one the galaxies BEST at hiding and spying, probably a good bet for escaping Imperials. JS

I HAAAAAATTTTEEE the push to have Windu survive order 66. Mace was the personification of the Republic age Jedi's arrogance. His death and failure to stop Palpatine are the perfect encapsulation of the fall of the Jedi and the Republic. Undoing that makes it all seem pointless.
@mediumfast2 жыл бұрын
Coming back to this after Book of Boba Fett is interesting. For starters, it seems like Grogu has no idea who Yoda is. Luke talks to him about Yoda and there is no sign he recognizes the name or description. It is possible Yoda kept his distance and he just doesn't remember that far back. We know he's having trouble with his memory. Grogu does seem to recognize R2, but that still might not be from his Order 66 rescue. Remember Grogu lived through the entire age of the Empire, presumably being protected and hidden by the rebels or their sympathizers so it is totally plausible that he and R2 met during that time. But also since he's cut himself off from the force for so long, we don't really know how powerful he is or was. It seems possible that he could have saved himself and maybe another padawan (since he's pretty slow and can't talk) who enabled him to reach safety and allies.
@fraoct10653 жыл бұрын
I honestly I would think that it was Jocasta Nu based solely on her actions in the comics but I also thought it could be Shaak Ti as well. I don't think Shaak ti is dead. Yeah, we saw the vision in Clone Wars of her dying but we also saw visions of other things that didn't necessarily play out as we saw Yoda's vision.
@chrisstowell4843 жыл бұрын
Whether you count Shaak Ti's murder by Grievous on the Malevolence during the Palpatine rescue by Obi-Wan and Anakin, or her death at the Meditation Chamber of the Jedi Temple during Order 66, SADLY Shaak Ti is dead. Jocasta survived and is the most likely to have saved Grogu as she also saved the most important Jedi secrets during Order 66.
@fraoct10653 жыл бұрын
@@chrisstowell484 Again, It was just a vision there was no confirmation as to if this vision played out exactly as Yoda saw it. In the vision we also saw Obi wan kenobi and other Jedi running towards the clones. Yes, order 66 happened but not in the way Yoda visions it.
@chrisstowell4843 жыл бұрын
I'm referring to the deleted scenes from the canon movie Revenge of the Sith. Two alternate scenes. From known canon at this point we know Yoda left Master Shaak Ti in charge at the temple when he left for Kashyyk meaning the first deleted scene aboard Malevolence was rendered moot as she was still alive using battle meditation at the Temple. I doubt very highly to see more of her after Order 66 because she was in the Meditation Chamber at which point both canon comics and that deleted scene place her death. I was thinking about something else too that noone ever seems to pick up on. Following Dark Disciple and Asajj Ventress death, Master Quinlan Vos was returned to the Temple, demoted to Knght for falling to the Dark Side(and with just mere weeks to go before Palpatine's kidnapping, rescue, and subsequent Order 66) he underwent healing and other protocols to ensure he wouldn't resume his path to the Dark Side. It's HIGHLY likely since the majority of the Order was in the field or at the Temple, that since he hadn't been reassigned to the Outer Rims yet that he would have been at the Temple when Order 66 occurred. Also remember that while clones in the field executed Order 66 immediately, Vader and the 501st would have taken TIME to first GET to and secure the perimeter at the Jedi Temple, then to enter. Were talking at least ten to fifteen minutes at least from Anakin leaving the chamber and the Order being issued to the time of the assault on the Temple. It's highly likely every Jedi at the Temple at that point sensed the disturbance and was preparing for trouble. Jocasta Nu would have absolutely been focused on secret removal of anything and anyone deemed of the utmost value to the Order. I actually think that during that time, before Vader and the 501st ever entered the Temple Grogu was gone. Isn't it likely that one of the #1 Jedi Order Masters disguise and espionage(Quinlan Vos) who also had an extensive knowledge and experience among the underworld and the Outer Rim might be the perfect candidate to explain Grogu's rescue as well as why he ends up in the Outer Rims?? Let me know what you think about that one, because lots of fans seem to be forgetting a major Jedi who is KNOWN in Canon to have survived Order 66 with extensive ties to the Outer Rims(and probably plenty of friends and not so friends in the region).
@fraoct10653 жыл бұрын
@@chrisstowell484 Your points are very interesting what do you think happened to him
@chrisstowell4843 жыл бұрын
@@fraoct1065 I think after his reprocessing to remove the Dark Side and after fully realizing Ventress loved him and had turned selfless in that love to sacrifice for him, that his connection to the Light Side of the Force was amplified. Were talking someone who's obviously acquainted with some of the worst and best the underworld and the Outer Rims criminal syndicates like no other. Vos is every bit as self assured as Anakin and had the advantage of already walking both paths. He's actually next to Obi Wan one of the most CAPABLE Jedi to go into hiding amongst others in the galaxy and still manage to stay hidden. Since Obi Wan and Bail Organa took over protecting the Skywalker twins, the next logical concepts Yoda would want protected would be Force Sensitive younglings(the fates of far too many a death at Anakins hands at the Temple) who could be trained to the Dark Side or would be slaughtered with the already known viciousness Vader displayed. It makes sense that Vos would head for his stomping grounds to protect Grogu. By the time of Mandalorian we don't know if the Pirates had kidnapped him from Quinlan or whoever else saved him from Order 66. That person may have died fighting such pirates. It leaves alot of time and space open for some revisiting Quinlan Vos and the Outer Rims connections coming forefront with Clone Wars Maul, Crimson Dawn, Bounty Hunters and the Hutts, yes there's alot of room for story to develop there. I think Quinlan is a prime possibility people forget about. Even though he was hiding in plain sight in the Phantom Menace. Perhaps tracking Aurra Sing who is seen at the pod race. She was wanted by the Jedi council for her prior Jedi turned rogue Jedi killer during the Clone Wars.

It's possible Grogu was in a certain room in which babies were being kept. We do know the Jedi took children into their care when they were a few month old so they must've had a nursery in the temple. Maybe he was saved by a nurse droid even, but let's consider where Grogu ended up in the Mando series. If Grogu were saved by a Jedi I think it's less likely Grogu would end up in that situation later on. If he were saved by a Jedi and that Jedi was killed during the purge then it's likely Grogu would've suffered the same fate. Or he would've been taken to Sidious as a possible future apprentice. If, on the other hand he was saved by a nurse droid, for instance, it's more likely the droid got blasted later on by someone who took the kid as a prize or something. A droid carrying a child wouldn't draw much attention to the Empire. It's more likely it'd draw attention to thieves and such... There are 28 years between Order 66 and Mando, but still, Grogu could've been sold from thief to thief idk.

Shouldn't anikin have known about grogu? I think that vader was the one that “saved” grogu.. because I don’t think that he ever trusted Palpatine 100% and maybe he figured that he would use grogu to help take him down in the future.. which Ashoka just says that grogu’s memory/mind goes dark after order 66, not that he doesn’t remember/his mind is blank, just that it goes dark.. which to me could indicate the dark side... also look at some of the things grogu does, force choking and other “violent” things using the force which he obviously would not have learned from the Jedi.. and force choking is like a staple of Vader I mean when you think of force choking you think of Vader… so it’s not that far-fetched that he learned it from Vader.. I mean he obviously didn’t learn it from a Jedi… also it might explain why he can’t talk.. maybe he was force choked by vader… either later on after order 66 and vader was training him/turning him to the dark side, and he made vader angry, or maybe he tried to fight vader/the dark side or during order 66 when he was attacking the Jedi Temple, he was going to kill grogu by force choking him, then suddenly decided not to do it… and figured he would take him in as an apprentice girls where are you guys I think Vader would see grogu as still being young enough to manipulate, and turn to the darkness than some of the other younglings, also he knew that grogu had the potential to become very powerful and therefore become a very powerful ally to Vader.. I mean out of the younglings and padawans at the temple that he could’ve chosen, I would think grogu would be the ideal choice..

Maybe it was two characters together who saved Grogu, such as R2D2 and Mace Windu. Windu would probably be one of the few high-ranking jedi masters (other than Yoda) who knew of Grogu's presence and R2D2 could have provided technical help, such as accessing locked, restricted areas of the jedi temple, which would be helpful considering how wounded Windu was after his encounter with Palpatine (if Windu was still alive of course)

I think maybe a combo between the Jocasta Nu and R2D2 theory could be the best explanation. Maybe R2 split off and ran into Jocasta Nu, who in return helped rescue Grogu under the radar as well. R2 is good at creating diversions and there could have created one to deflect Clone Troopers getting close to Jocasta Nu and Grogu. Perhaps maybe they encountered Yoda somewhere along the way where Yoda maybe have helped in the escape. I still want to believe the Mace Windu still survived and later comes back to help aid rebellion in it's earlier days and he ends up sacrificing himself by fighting Vader and ultimately dying.
