I just finished the book of Daniel. My 3rd time through it. I just noticed so many interesting and cool parallels that Daniel has in connection to the rest of the Bible. -Daniel is like Joseph, a servant who gets elevated in a foreign land because of his faithfulness and ability to interpret dreams... and have dreams himself. - Daniel is like the story of Esther, in that he puts himself on the line, and the very people that were seeking his demise end up getting killed in the same way they planned it for Daniel. (Like Haman planned for Mordecai) -Then reading the prophecy portion and it talks about 7 sets of 70 years... and I'm reminded of Jesus saying forgive our neighbors 70x7 times. I thank God for these Bible project videos that help further explain.
@TrustworthyExpert3 ай бұрын
Yes we are to forgive right up until the 70th week of daniel, then judgement comes. Then the filthy remain filthy and the righteous remain righteous. Daniel 9:27 talks about a 7 year covenant. Jesus talks about this 7 year period. The 7 year period starts on Roshhashana some year. You will know when a "prince of the covenant" brings peace to israel and as Joel says "divides the land" of israel. This could very well start on this roshhashana on october 2nd. Two things to remember 1. Do not take a mark in you hand that will be tied to your job, bank account allowing you to buy and sell things. 2. Jesus returns in the sky like lightning. The first "messiah" the world receives, and most of the church, is the antichrist. Jesus calls this the great falling away or great apostasy. I have great doubts that the rapture happens before this starts. if it does, great. if it doesn't then endure to the end faithfully, do not take the mark and do not love your life, even dying to not deny the name of Jesus.

Hello Anna Daniel 10 when they say the prince of Persia and prince of Greece these are principalities in the spirit realm. Daniel had fasted 21 days so a messenger angel was coming to give him the answer to his fasting, but the angel had to fight the evil principality prince of Persia who resides over Persia to cause wickedness (each place has an evil principally, if the devil is the boss they are the managers over places) Michael a chief angel came to help the messenger angel so he could deliver the message to Daniel. The messenger angel says he has to fight again on his way back to God because he will have to pass through the second heaven and he said the prince Persia sent for reinforcements from the prince of Greece but Michael will help him. Check out Kevin LA Ewing he breaks the Bible down beautifully. I hope this helps!

And I swear he most certainly saved me! I got baptised in 2000 and things were great but I've backsliden for a long time now and kind of feeling ashamed about it tbh. But that's how I'm hear I've picked up my bible for the first time in a long time and this is wear I was drawn to, but it's easier for me to understand when it's in a video like this one for me just now than it is to read 📖 it just now so I've subscribed thanks and God bless ♥

I’m really enjoying the animations and story telling! Just as a note, I have read comments from so many “bible scholars” about the details and the idea is skipping over important pieces. I think you all are missing the entire point of The Bible Projects mission which is to make time to read God’s word and to spend time with Him. So often we spend time trying to crack the great mystery without being quiet and still before the Lord as He speaks to us. This information should be used as a framework to motivate you to build and progress in the Bible. It’s not a matter of right or wrong theologically but a matter of the heart and pursuing a closer relationship with Jesus. Just a suggestion! 🤷🏾♀️

Having read some of the negative comments below about how you guys have steered clear of “controversy“ by giving an overview makes me wonder if they understand what an overview is. It appears to me that some folks want everything in one spot, but that is not how overviews work. Also, controversial items are just that, controversial. The design of the Bible project is not rooted in debate, platforming, or controversy. That is plain to see having looked at and carefully listened to all of your other videos. I am a gospel preacher and have been preaching the gospel both locally and as a foreign missionary since 1997. I have found your content to be remarkably well done; it’s apparent that a lot of sincere and well-studied work goes into this which many people cannot begin to fathom. I appreciate positive criticism, but I also appreciate when people are more balanced in their statements. To be sure you guys are doing a fine work educating the “masses” in an overview, birds-eye fashion allowing people to do their own study having a better overall understanding of things to begin with. Good hermeneutic, fine exegesis and approach. Thank you very much for your ministry. I pray God is glorified in it. Duane Patton Vancleave Church of Christ Vancleave Mississippi

The Bible Project Alexanders empire was not Greek and Daniel didn’t write “The king of Greece” in his book. There was no Greece back then , just city states. But the kingdom of Macedon did exist. In the original text when Daniel wrote his book, he wrote; “The king of Javan” when referring to Alexander the great, king of Macedonia because a lot of the time the Old Testament uses the ancestoral father of a nation when referring to it. In the book of Jasher in chapter 10 verse 13 it says; “And the children of Javan are the Javanim, who dwell in the land of makdonia” And we know from the book of acts when Paul traveled around Macedonia and Greece/achaia that they’re 2 different nations and people.

It's amazing how the interpretation of Daniel 7, the central thrust of the book, has changed over time. One of the most fascinating studies is to compare expositor's takes on the four beasts of Daniel 7 over the breadth of Christian history. By far the most common interpretation over most of the history in order of the beasts was 1st (lion-babylon), 2nd (bear-medopersia), 3rd (leopard-greece), 4th (terrible beast-pagan then papal rome). The little horn was most often interpreted as an apostate christian power. It's only been in the last 100-150 years that the antiochus epiphanes interpretation has taken center stage, though it has been around for millennia. This widespread change in beliefs, of course, had to occur in order for Revelation 13 to come true. In Revelation 13 the 1st beast, which is a composite beast of the four beasts of Daniel 7, receives a deadly wound but then becomes very prominent. The 2nd beast of Revelation 13 starts out as a very gentle Lamb-like beast but then adopts the policies and principles of Revelation 13's 1st beast and begins to speak as a dragon and to force worship of man as opposed to worship of God, reverberating as it were the beasts of the past. This is the great last showdown of whether to believe and obey the laws and the power of men or to believe and obey the laws and the power of God in Christ. This rise of Revelation's 1st beast and the subsequent enactment of it's policies by Revelation 13's second beast could not have occurred if the beliefs today about Bible prophecy were the same as they were before the 1900's.

Right on, man! Really missed a mention of these prophetic parallels in History in this video. These guys’ work is top-notch, but I’m sad to see it looses sight of the most amazing and important parts of these amazing books by laying “touchy” subjects aside and trying to write around them in the name of an apparent accessibility.
@batvon394 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I've been studying Daniel and the way I interpret it the Antiochus interpretation isn't in conflict with the terrible roman beast interpretation. The little horn in Daniel 7 comes out of a different animal than the one in Daniel 8. The chpt 7 animal is a terrible beast while the chpt 8 animal is a goat. I don't see why we'd assume they're the same person, other than both being defined as terrible anti-righteousness people (and with that description, there a hundreds of "little horns" in history). Antiochus is therefore the dreadful persecutor of God's people in chapters 8 and 11 and a Roman power is the dreadful blasphemer of chapter 7.

Beautifully organized and so well put together! I've seen many sermons on Daniel, but never heard it put together in a big-picture way like this. I can tell a lot of prayer and preparation went into this. Fantastic production, please keep up the great work!

I love the bible project. I stumbled upon it accidentally roughly 2 months ago. Since then I’ve told or shown many of my friends and family about it. The way the videos are drawn out before your eyes with the narration in play, gives a whole new take on reading the books of the bible. So, it gets a big 5* rating from me .🙏😇

I just love that it so simply - and very artistically - reminds us that God's greatest desire is that we humble ourselves and honor him with our lives. We step outside of this posture to rely on our own devices and accolades, and watch out!

Thank you for explaining and encouraging. We, like Daniel, are "pressured to give up our ('Jewish' / "Christian" identity"), and live like the world (Babylonians) - with promoting self, pride, and selfishness. Amidst Christian persecution we are to wait on our faithful God. He will / has, overthrown and destroyed the Kingdoms of this world, and will establish His everlasting Kingdom of Righteousness and Peace. Our pattern for living hinges on His promises, provision and power - to overcome, and be victorious with Christ.

Does not represent "arrogant kingdoms." -Babylon -MedoPersia -Greece -Rome TheBibleProject drops the ball in many major doctrines, especially once they get to Jude and Revelation. It's clear they are POST-TRIBBERS. Post-Tribbers are sinners who sin against God's very Nature and Character. They will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven (as Hebrews 3&4 and the 'servant' at the end of Matthew 24 clearly show). Once they get to Jude, THIER ideology starts to show itself big time. Distorting God's Word just to push THEIR belief … will be punished, severely. And, in this video, there are only FOUR KINGDOMS in Daniel. They are *literally* numbered! There are FOUR metals in the image, and there are FOUR beast and so there are FOUR and ONLY FOUR kingdoms that make up Babylon. They do not represent "arrogant nations." To generalize and say that they represent "arrogant kingdoms" is the sort of teaching that keeps the weak, weak, and the unlearned, unlearned. No. Those FOUR kingdoms represent the FOUR kingdoms of Babylon -BABYLON: head of gold / lion with plucked wings -MEDOPERSIA: chest of silver / lop-sided bear with 3 ribs in its mouth -GREECE: thighs of brass / four-headed leopard -ROME: legs of iron / great beast *BUT IRON IS MENTIONED {TWICE}! IT'S THE SAME KINGDOM OF ROME!* Feet of *iron* and clay is because Rome used to be only a Nation, a State. But now Rome has become BOTH FALSE CHURCH AND STATE. *The VATICAN!* So, eventhough there are five limbs, there are still only FOUR metals. ROME is the final kingdom ROMAN VATICAN (CATHOLICS) are the second half of the fourth kingdom. The "iron mixed with clay" is the same thing as the *"harlot on a beast"* FALSE CHURCH that is also a NATION. The same way the iron is mixed with clay, is the same reason why the harlot if ON a beast (not "AND a beast," but "ON a beast"). They are one and the same. *Over and over, Babylon is seen as TWO: nation that is also a religion.* Babylon AND Ba'al Iron MIXED with clay Harlot ON a beast Antichrist AND the false prophet Over and over, its the same thing. Babylon in TWO: religion and nation. Beware people who are reluctant to expose the CATHOLIC enemy for what it is. Ba'al has always been the enemy of both Jew and Chrsitian … and don't you forget it. THIS is "sound Doctrine" … not milk. People who feed you MILK are not caretakers of your soul.
