I had intended to order The Palestinian-Israeli Conflict A Very Short Introduction by Martin Bunton pub Oxford 2013, but I'm very glad I decided to research this author before doing so.

Also- nuance and context isn't analysis. It's almost always simply a furtherance of one's opinions.

With the current you need to go back to 2007 because that's when Gaza became what was called an open air prison. This year will cast light for example on the claim that Gazans voted for Hamas in 2006. Now were those that committed the action on Oct 7th ( I say this because many of the claims were debunked) even born in 2006 and take it from there...

Dear presenter: You have good guests on your show, but your interviewing style spoils to some extent the content. Your audience does not want to be constantly aware of your own processing of what your guests say. They want to process it for themselves. It would be good if you asked your questions and then put the interviewee on full-screen, so that we are not obliged to watch your own processing. Above all, please do not try to finish the sentence of the interviewees. Let the interviewees take as long as they like to finish it themselves. Often your own ending to the sentence is different to that of the interviewee, but your voice drowns out the interviewee's voice, such that we in the audience lose clarity on that part of the interviewee's thought. Thank you.

@@bookcafepodcast Hello Omar. Thank you for not resenting my comment. Of course it's a matter of the audience's taste and of the personality of each interviewer. For my part, if on the spectrum of interviewers, from the most interventionist to the least, we have at one extreme, say, Chris Hedges and at the other Owen Jones, with both of whom I'm sure you are familiar, I admire Hedges for the way in which he asks very informed questions and then lets his interviewees answer at whatever length they wish, while he remains silent and unexpressive, neither assenting nor disagreeing by means of nods or shakes of the head, and then follows up with the next question, which only then makes clear to us the extent to which he does in fact agree with what has been said, or thinks it requires some additional or divergent commentary. Owen Jones, on the other hand, with his constant nodding, his face a continual play of assenting, approving, admiring, perplexed, etcetera, gestures, turns his interviews into the public spectacle of his own personal interaction with his interviewees. Even though I generally agree with Jones' points of view, I have to turn the image off to be able to get through his interviews. I'll definitely watch your interview with Nurit Peled-Elhanan. I've heard her before. She's terrific. Thank you and best wishes.
