The match was great and the level of violence matched the storyline. This has been a multi-match feud and it culminated in the type of violence that reflects the actions both competitors took against each other (e.g. breaking into Hangman's son's room, burning down Swerve's childhood home, etc.)

I saw an interview with Swerve a couple of months back. He said some of the things he does you may not like, but it's going to get a reaction and that is what he's looking for. Also Swerve is a huge horror movie fan. Look, we are still talking about this match almost a week later, and it's become one of the most polarizing matches of this decade, so I'm sure AEW got what they wanted. AEW is going to be criticized no matter what it does, so I'm happy their are leaning into their strengths and not compromising their brand for their core audience.

Did you ever watch the Taker vs Mankind match? How about Rock vs Foley? Ever see anything the guys in ECW were doing? Maybe an Edge & Christian Con-chair-to. Rey Mysterio getting his eye popped out? Vader getting it popped out for real? My point: the whole purpose of professional wrestling is to make the audience BELIEVE you’re killing the other guy. That’s why all the punches, the kicks, the chairs, the sledgehammers, the tacks, the barbed wire, the endless bludgeoning and mayhem. Mutilation is the goal. And yet, pretty much nobody dies. Because it LOOKS horrible, but it isn’t ACTUALLY horrible. You think one needle is worse than 1000 thumbtacks? Ask the guys that landed in them face first. It’s still wrestling, still an illusion, still the point of the whole thing, and still why we watch. The “good old days” you reference died before Gorgeous George put on a robe.

@@thatboybearno the problem is alot of the stuff people are doing looks horrible and IS HORRIBLE. Guys are getting fd up and legit hurt all for the sake of trying to get over. Traditionally you pretended to be massively hurt and got over. Now wrestlers get legit hurt but they dont get over. That's why wrestlers almost weekly are bleeding or going through tables all to get an ounce of audience engagement. You give examples like vader's eyeball except neglect the fact that it was a pure accident and not meant to happen. Things like the conchairto when performed well, its 100% safe- no contact even gets made on the target. Theres no art in just self mutilation. Thats just shock value and you might as well just watch jack ass.

@@BigDaddyColawho’s legit hurt? Who’s hurt in AEW more than in any other wrestling promotion? Getting hurt is an expected part of the job. Taker wrestled that Cell match with Foley on a broken ankle. And how are you saying those guys aren’t over? Swerve was just the frikkin champion; Hangman was champion before. How “over” do you want them to be? Despite the protracted and dedicated hate of the promotion, it’s still thriving, still selling shows, still impacting the business. Hell, TK single-handedly resurrected ROH and his deals with NJPW and the lucha scene are expanding the market globally. The company works. The styles work. The “over” works. First of all I think the Needle spot looks dumb, but it's been used in death matches in Japan since the 90's and its nothing new. Doing a Needle spot isn't something fans are going to chat like they do Tables for Dudleys. And AEW is about variety so they are probably going to do everything there is to do in wrestling at least once, that does not mean that they are going to Make a habit of the Needle spot. Also, the Needle spot doesn't have anything to do with illegal drugs. I've never heard any wrestling company that did a Needle spot associate it with some kind of substance. Maybe that's what you think, but the original idea of the Needle spot was supposed to be that the Needle had AIDS on it. And it was used in Japanese death matches where they also had piranhas, baby alligators, scorpions, beds of nails and panes of glass, and contraptions like Scissor ✂️ boards and gusset plates. The fact is that Needle spot to the AEW Sickos, they knew that it was just a Japanese death match gimmick. It doesn't matter if you or I like it or not, the fact is that it is a standard death match gimmick and AEW like I said does everything and anything that has already been done and there is a fanbase for death match wrestling. I hate death match wrestling but everyone knows that a good wrestling show will have something for everyone. From comedy to lucha, joshi, hybrid style, old Memphis style, the popcorn match, women's matches, midgets, etc... so bottom line let's not discriminate against the fans that enjoy crappy death match garbage wrestling. I mean AEW is the alternative to Sports Entertainment and the WWE. AEW is for the Sickos. AEW is not going to sacrifice their vision or betray being true to themselves by toning down, going PG aka PC or catering to casual fans over their actual fan base. AEW is like a death metal band in wrestling. Everyone always says that if the death metal band changes certain things and made the vocal easier to understand or didn't play so loud and heavy that the band would have better success. Well anyone who is interested in death metal already knows that the band plays death metal because they want to, not because they want to make it and be successful in the music industry. If a death metal band wanted to be more popular and successful, then they would probably just play Metallica or something more radio friendly. This is why AEW is the alternative to Sports Entertainment. They play wrestler for the sake of wrestling. Tony Khan is a millionaire mark and AEW is his fantasy wrestling league. We should be happy to have a company that is in good shape and provide opportunities to fans to see an alternative and for the men and women to come to an make a living outside of the WWE

AEW is not choosing the lengths they will go to; the WRESTLERS are choosing the lengths they will go to. Spike Dudley’s done interviews on some of the bumps he took, one in particular Taker choke slamming him over the top rope to the floor. He had to convince Taker to do it. Taker asked Bubba Ray, and Bubba said, “If Spike says he can take it, he can take it.” These guys are choosing the risks they want to take and they’re not gonna do anything beyond what they’re comfortable with. The human body is still guided by the human brain, brains they’re all using as they have will and agency to do.

As far as going too far if you're asking if it's going too far they're doing everything right. You can't be a afraid to be what you're supposed to be. That's what that type of wrestling is meant to be. And that kind of wrestling there is no such thing as too far if it goes too far then doing right. What I found about Aldi wrestling is it consists of multiple types of wrestling. To me pro wrestling isn't one thing it's whatever it is to whatever you like. It just so happens I like all wrestling types.

The thing is you have a company trying to make it look real as possible so you have to men beating the hell out of each other there is going to be blood don’t care who you are now needle may be to far but come on that’s what they wanted to do so leave it alone man if you don’t like it don’t watch it’s that easy

The only thing that I didn't like was the the cinder block. A hole in a cheek will heal, but they could have been paralyzed from that cinder block. I want to see them walk away and fight another day.

I think everyone has their limits on how much or what kind of violence they'll let pass. For me I don't mind the blood for the most part but there are times when I see the wrestlers facr is a crimson mass and suddenly go I'm not having a good time. Not always but many of Triple H's matches during that rein of terror often times against HBK his face would be crimson and maybe it's a five star, but I wasn't enjoying it. Same with Eddie Guerrero's matches with JBL for the WWE title, when those two started turning the whole ring red I found I just wanted it to end. Everyone is different and my advice would if you have more people not liking it, then pull it back, because if the audience isn't having fun they may not return.

A man died on WWE pay-per-view and continued the paper view. Stop the hypocritical shit. They for sure continued a show when Mick Foley received CTE by going off a cage twice while concussed.

Using the plastic bag wasn't the problem, the problem was how it was executed, instead of Cesaro doing an upper-cut which Bryan no sell with his shock look, Moxley should have just used the plastic bag from the back and choke Bryan with it. Also the reason why this angle didn't meant much was because BCC is a faction with both babyfaces and heels, they barely ever work together as a faction or Team in TV, and barely spend time as faction, they were doing all their solo feuds in singles matches and tag matches they never together as team so this angle left lackluster, fans barely viewed them as BCC rather saw them as singles who occasionally team up. I can bet my money it will be another Undisputed Kingdom, even if Shane Macmahon comes on this storyline it won't last long.

Not my favorite thing and also kinda disturbing at times but sometimes at the same time still enjoyable it’s weird I watch and enjoy it but I also don’t at the same time I respect what they do and put their lives on the line it all depends what mood I’m in sometimes I want hardcore wrestling and sometimes I don’t I don’t think it should be canceled as long as they make sure it’s save enough and gimmicked enough just have age warning and trigger warnings
