THE BEST tangent, ever. Pirate hook hands and a fleshlight. 😂 Also, can you please do an episode about ships/boats/etc.? (Has that been done?)
@IceMetalPunk2 жыл бұрын
I'm 22 minutes in, and what I've learned so far is that you should always wash your fleshlight before giving it to your double-hook-handed friends.

6:02 fun fact: in spanish we say "página" for the numbered page and "hoja" (leaf) for a sheet of paper, or as Hank defined it, the physical thing when you wiggle it around. i love the etymology section of each episode and comparing english to my own language lol
@PinkKing9072 жыл бұрын
I love that part too! But I guess I'm the weird one for already knowing the the distinction between leafs and pages and that they were not synonymous.

Spoken Spanish my whole life and was today years old when I realised there was a difference between hoja and pájina. I’m sure I could have figured it out if asked but it never came up

In German a sheet of paper is called a Blatt Papier (literally: leaf (of) paper) and a page is a Seite (literally: side).

I can definitely relate to Ceri's answer but I'll raise one of those super refreshing early summer rains. When it's just warm enough that it doesn't really get cold but not warm enough that the rain makes the air all humid. But I do love the feeling of running through a sprinkler/hoses 😁

Dude neither did I until finding a recent interview she was given this week while speaking about her atheism. Just her choice of words, the specifics in not only why she's an atheist but also the justice behind becoming one is so accurate to where even I am with religion do I even hope we see more of her again.

Spoilers? Due to just having watched Kaz Rowe’s video on Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, I have to wonder if that book from the Queen Anne’s Revenge was from the small library that Bonnet kept on Blackbeard’s ship before Blackbeard dumped him (ashore, that is). I don’t remember hearing that Bonnet’s library was dumped with him.

A natural pesticide in books is pseudoscorpions, also called book scorpions. They’re little arachnids that hang out in tiny spaces and hunt the kinds of larvae that would damage a book. I don’t think people intentionally put them in their books, but when they were discovered and studied, they were found to be beneficial in that way.

If you like the overly sarcastic productions channel, they also have a podcast, which has a running gag of making a time heist movie in which they save the library of Alexandria from being burned. In this running gag, one of their cats knocks out a candle which causes the fire. One of their fans made a trailer of this supposed movie, if you wanna watch it, it’s in KZbin.

Many, many pirates were not 'pretty heteronormative', they were hella gay. I'm guessing they got STIs in the regular way and then made up the story about catching it second hand from a fleshlight. Because, yeah, I think Hank is right that it would make more sense to take care of that in the normal way. Two bros sharing a fleshlight because they're not gay.

The drinkable book was a thing. The paper was coated with silver and copper nano particles and was presented in a plastic case that acted as a filter cup. The books were meant for distribution to third world countries and other places where clean water was almost nonexistent. It did have shortcomings though and I’m not sure if it still exists.

Wasn't the filter book they were talking about like a book on how to filter water in case of an apocalypse level disaster? Like the whole book was instructions on filtering water but you could use the "leaves" to filter water

So, I know that this is only lightly competitive and I'm not coming down on anyone but I think it's interesting that males do better on multiple choice than females. This isn't because they know more of the answers; subjects also have to answer questions without the answers being supplied alongside false ones and males and females are equal in that task. Anyway, while Sam is smashing it using only his instincts, and Ceri (so?) is floundering while using sound reasoning I often think of this. Perhaps though, Sam and Hank (or whoever writes the questions) might just be more similar in their thinking
