You're going to love the Night Circus! It's not your typical genre but it matches your taste.

So good to hear that, I'm going to pick it up this weekend hopefully 😊

Your TBR is SO solid. I love many of these! Hope you find some favorites, you have great taste! I trust fellow women the most when it comes to horror, especially.

Thank you so much! Yeah I've had a pretty good start reading wise to the year and I've been really enjoying most of these books so far. I think I only have 3 or 4 books left to go from this list but I've gotten a bit distracted with reading library books too. I totally get the trusting women's reviews more, I'm the same 🖤

If you like Ian Reid, I can highly recommend "i'm thinking of ending things", which is another book by him that was adapted into one of the greatest movies I'v ever watched. It's deeply philosophical and very unsettling.

I watched the film adaptation a few years ago and was so puzzled by it so I've been procrastinating on picking up the book. But if I dig Foe, I'll be sure to get it in future!

I just finished Burial Rites by Hannah Kent and if you haven't read it you might check it out. It's one of the most beautifully written novels I've read. An unbelievably horrific true story. Definitely one of my all time favs.

(Side note) i left this comment earlier and it landed up on a other KZbinrs shorts commet section!- Anywya, I hope you are keeping well. You look stunning by the way. I read the book eaters last year so I am interested to hear your thoughts. It wasnt everything that i had hoped but I think i gave it 4 stars. I also have legends and lattes on my Tbr for so long so I am eager to get around to it 😊 I am currently finishing off the Good girls guide to murder series as a buddy read and I am really enjoying it.

I read Foe, I liked it but I much preferred I'm Thinking of Ending Things by the same author :)

I've seen the film adaptation of I'm Thinking of Ending Things and I'm kinda intimidated to read it because I was so confused watching it 😂

@@RGsDevilship I haven’t seen it, but I’ve heard that it’s a very arty take on it 😅 and quite far from the book apparently…

The Ted Chiang collection is soooo good. Took me a long time to read because he kept making my head explode and then I had to stop to scoop it all up again. Worth it anyway. I’m in the middle of two very dense books right now, so for the rest of January I hope to read some lighter-weight fare. Probably at least one Sue Grafton mystery and at least one British or Nordic noir, maybe something in a grimdark line like Anna Smith Spark, maybe something from Kathy Koja or Lisa Tuttle.

Foe was probably in my Top 10 books last year and I have the unpopular opinion that it is Reid's best! I was the same as you with Legends and Lattes. Didn't think I would ever read it and just finished it last week and loved it. Cows was not good to me. I don't have an issue with extreme horror but I just thought it was so poorly done. Its like it tries to have dark humor among the grossness and did not pull it off. I had lots of issues with outside the "extreme" part. The Book Eaters was one of my biggest surprises of last year because its a dense, slow burn that I almost DNF'D and absolutely loved once I got into it. Happy reads this Winter!

I love tbrs that have a little bit of everything! I’ve been wanting to check out Foe for awhile. I read We Spread and I’m Thinking of Ending Things, so I’m curious how it’ll compare to those! I can’t wait to hear what you think of Cows, I won’t even attempt it. 😅 Legends and Lattes intrigues me even though I don’t read fantasy. What a great tbr! 🖤

Certainly a diverse range of books that you have on your TBR list. No spoilers, but the only one I've read from this particular line-up is "Cell", by Stephen King, which was good enough to like - it displayed King's customary clarity, sense of pace, & characterization we all know so well. You'll enjoy it.

Cows sucks. It is ridiculous camp. Try My Dark Vanessa or The Groomer. Both of these books made me vomit. Also, the Gates of Janus, a deep psychological analysis of several serial killers.

I'm kinda burnt out on reading books about childhood trauma, I've read a lot of them over the years and I'm just like yeah not for me
