I just finished the Chakraborty triliogy. I read each book in one night over 2 weekends. I highly enjoyed them. They aren't perfect, and I'm not sure they're your taste, but it was a breath of fresh air in the fantasy genre for me. I just let myself go along for the magic ride and enjoyed something that wasn't western culture oriented. Great fun. I will say I think the character are very well-written. My only quibble is that one is written in a way that you think you might should be more sympathetic toward but I remained unswayed. If I were 14, maybe. But as an adult, no way. LOL

You prob won’t see this but something to help with your lack of space issue ……I used to have those black billy bookcases for my library. But if you measure the wooden space of where one ends and another begins you lose 1-1/2” to almost 2” of book space. I had 4 of them butted up together and I found I lost almost 5’ of prime book space. I ended up getting shelves that are just open ended and put 3 of those together and idk how it happened but I ended up opening 12’ of book space. Not to mention I can still run a long shelf above it to add an additional 9’. Hope that all makes sense. Basically what I’m saying is it’s not always the room in which you have your books in, it’s how they’re being stored

Read the Bone Ships! I happened to finish the trilogy just an hour or so before watching this video. I haven't been more emotionally affected by the ending of a series in a long time as this one. It is set mostly at sea, which I know isn't a selling point for you, but the characters are some of the best I've read in a long time, and the emotional highs and lows of the series are tough to see matched anywhere else.

And now i have inspiration for whenever i get my own place again and decide to create my library. As for your video: im in love. Though, as the hard core Anne Roce fan boy, would recommend putting The Mummy after Queen of the Damned (given her entire multiverse, that novel fits in between Damned and Body Theif as a way of fiving some light after the vampire smackdown in Queen plus to elaborte on what a certain vampire in Lestat said when he mentioned knowing Ramses; if Sanderson fans can go juts over Well and Age being misplaced, then i might as well throw the ghost of Rice a bone as well). Note for the people: dont take my posts all that serious, one of the few times i can geek out over this so might as well be the annoying fan boy. Lol

Atlas Shrugged nearly killed me with its endless speechifying that went on and on and on and on. And the silly love story aspect that made me want to throw the book across the room. However, it did make me see cities in an entirely different way. Even though I'm city born and bred, I've always wanted to live in a more rural area/around nature. But this book helped me see cities as the incredible achievements that they are. That has stayed with me and I think of it often. It was a deep life change, so I am grateful for that.

10:30: "I've only read Ender's Game" I understand the concerns with the Ender sequels. I read books 2-4 this year and the quality drops along the way. You absolutely should read book 2 which is Speaker for the Dead. It was phenomenal. I will absolutely be re-reading Ender's Game and Speaker at different times. But the last two books of the quartet (Xenocide and Children of the Mind) should absolutely be skipped.

A comic book publisher friend of mine was travelling through Maine and it was late. Rather than paying for a motel, he noticed an all night movie house and decided to spend the night there. Can you guess where this is going? The other person who decided to spend the night watching movies was Stephen King. They had both seen the movies on offer before and spent the night talking horor and comic books.
