Powerless being a copy of the hunger games was such a shock to me. I haven't read Powerless yet and I will give it a shot nonetheless but still that kinda threw me off when i heard it for the first time 😅 Divine Rivals was so cute, i gave it 4.75 stars but i agree that we were not given enough info about the war. Definitely wanted "more" from Iris and Roman, I get what you mean!

I rated Divine Rivals and Powerless 5 stars 😂 I completely agree with your viewpoints on both books though! Overall, I think they’re perfect for YA readers. I will definitely be picking up Cruel Prince! Any book you love goes immediately in my TBR lol.

i read divine rivals as an audiobook and it was so good, the two narrators for roman and kit really fitted the vibes and the way they read the letters was really beautiful. so if you wanna read this one, maybe try the audiobook!

i literally just finished heartstopper vol 5 and it was sooo good. i’m sad vol 6 is the last one! + i understand your thoughts and opinion with divine rivals. it’s fair and valid LMAO i love the concept but it could have been more than what it was. especially ruthless vows! but it’s a nice read

I soft DNF’d Better Than The Movies. I found the FMC annoying, plus it reminded me too much of a movie called The Duff. I still need to The Cruel Prince 🥴😆
@julre78662 ай бұрын
Same! I thought of the movie the whole time while reading it. I thought the book was still cute but it felt unoriginal for me because of the similarities to the movie plot.

I gotta agree with the statement for Divine Rivals. I had such high hopes for that book but the actual world building and storyline were a little lacking imo. Also. Unpopular opinion. I didn't really like the Cruel Prince (please don't come for me😭) and I do still have to read the other books in the series, but im kinda dreading it tbh😅😢
@Sofia-vv3hw2 ай бұрын
I totally agree with you! I did find the Cruel Prince lacking,mostly because the romance got a lot of hype but you just get a ton of plans and fantasy dilemmas(which are fine,but not what i prepared for or wanted..). I chose to keep reading the series ,and again The wicked king was ..eh...So, maybe just dnr it😂 and be over with it

If you like better than the movies, you should read betting on you by Lynn Painter. Also Katherine Center has the most amazing romance books, like the bodyguard, most are spice free or have very little spice in them :)

Ah if you like love letters in books maybe look into the now-classic "The Virgin and the Gypsy" by DH Lawrence, which movingly and realistically concludes with such a letter 👍

I was pretty disappointed in Powerless. It’s not bad but it’s not up to the hype for me. Reckless was the same for me. It’s really hit or miss with these popular books. But I did like The Cruel Prince!! I’m shocked at how you said you didn’t feel the need to read the second book in Divine Rivals, because that ending of the first one!!’ 😮

I really enjoyed Hurricane Summer by Asha Bromfield (this book touched me so much -coming of age - I loved reading the jamaican language!-& above all- the end had me shook -in the best way🥲) then my second recommendation is The end and other beginnings by Veronica Roth (6 short sci-fi stories -great for dipping your toes into the sci-fi genre with feel good endings) Those are my favorite books to recommend!!! 😊 edit: I have no idea why my writing is crossed out also- highly recommend the Cruel Prince audiobook because I found it helped me really take in the descriptive writing best! anyways great video -enjoyed watching 😁

I just can’t connect to “enemies to lovers” trope. It doesn’t seem realistic - if you (really) dislike someone, it’s not probable that just out of the blue you’re gonna fall in love with this person.
