Excellent story, my only issue was the blame leveled against the preacher by his daughter and Briggs. The pastor had no idea what the mafia had planned for him, the only certainty was that he would be killed and his daughter taken. It wasn't as if the mob came right out and said he was going to be housing trafficked girls. I do agree that he and Anna should have alerted authorities and then fled, because fighting was definitely not the option for a meek pastor.

It was a good book, so thank you Book TV 💚 One thing shocked me though. When the author said "she was well past her prime" when referring to the woman who worked in the car wash who was in her late 20's! I would think a woman would be in her prime at least through her prime childbearing years. I looked it up on the internet and it said most doctors consider the prime years of person's life their 20s and 30s. So, does the author consider a man well past his prime when he's in his late 20's? 🤔 I'll most likely never know. For all I know the author misunderstood the term or meant something entirely different. Even still, it was a good listen and the narrator was very good too.
