plastic welder staples work great for bridging two pieces of plastic back in to one. I have done a ton of bumpers and other plastic fairings for cars with this sort of tool a cheap kit on amazon is like 25$ so not too bad and would work great for doing hand guards, vs using straight pins and pliers/torch.

You can find them on various overseas resellers, just look for "Cmore AR Mount". Quality will vary since it's all nameless overseas manufacturers.

I did a GWACS dissipator pretty similar to this, but with an A1 handguard and carry handle. I call it my North Hollywood Credit Card. Hope this strikes some inspiration for a name for you! Your handguard looks awesome.

In an alternate universe the military adopted something like this instead of even attempting the XM8 project. Could call it something like the XM16, I like the 'dissapator.' Very nice looking rifle, might attempt a build similar to this in the future.

Back to the handguard, when you added those 2 pins for the handguard, regarding mechanical rigidity. What would happen if you installed 4 pins. For example North, South, East and west.

That handguard looks slick, slap a tape switch and a ranger band on the gap and you wouldn't even know. Good job, I don't see magpul coming around anytime soon but maybe someday. I think B5 makes a rifle length drop in but it doesn't look as "futuristic".

If you like Borderlands video games, I used magpul handguards on my Dissy I built years ago to emulate a Dahl smooth carbine along with a magpul gen1 20rd pmag and other things. Veruca would be a cool name, its similar to one of the top tier ones in Borderlands 2

Not much to say, I snagged a very good reproduction mount from a friend who had one on a back shelf. You won’t find an original except for on gunbroker possibly, and the repro mount I have is almost 10 years old, so I have no clue where you’d find the same one currently.
