It’s going to cost the Canadian economy about $25 billion in the year 2030!
That’s not even cumulative!

I agree but Canada needs way more than just an election. There needs to be a fundamental government change. All three branches of government must be looked at and reformed. What are you going to do when Canadians vote in the crazies again? Do you think pp will actually investigate all of this governments crimes? Or will he just cut some tax and sweep it all away?

Scrap just carbon tax? How about scrapping income tax and sales tax. They were imposed by Robert Borden in 1917 and Brian Mulroney in 1991 respectively. They were meant to be temporary!!! Both prime ministers were Conservative!! Poilievre is a Conservative, so he will not axe the carbon tax!!

Indeed it is time to scrap this unjustified Tax on the Canadian economy and the Canadian People. Most people just do not understand all the stages where this Carbon Tax applies. First it is the Farmer who is paying an extraordinary amount of money because of this stupid tax, then we have Trucker Number 1 who takes the Farmers good from the Farm to the processor. Then we have the Processor who once again is nailed by this Tax. Then we have the packaging which once again is nailed by the Tax, and once that is done, enter Trucker Number 2 to take the now packaged goods to the Supermarket which AGAIN is nailed by the Carbon Tax. And this is only one aspect of how this tax works. It's Insane !

I don't buy that figure of Canada adding 1.5% to global emissions. Canada is staggeringly huge and has a puny population of around 40 million. Our boreal forest is absolutely massive and that alone is probably enough to offset the emissions. I have lived overseas there are single provinces in China that have double our population and handfuls of coal fire power plants. I think that number is a lie and is greatly exaggerated at best. A deep dive on that number would be interesting.

No, Canada does not produce 1.5% of global emissions. Canada produces 1.5% of MAN MADE emissions, which are about 4% of global emissions. In other words, Canada produces about 0.06% of global emissions. Some people think our 0.06% is important. I'm not one of them.

‼‼Regarding the Canada Carbon Rebate program. If you live outside a Census Metropolitan Area CMA, you are entitled to a 20% supplement to the rebate. Unless, like myself, you do not have Canada Post Service, so are forced to get mail service a Post Office with a Postal Code that happens to fall within a CMA, then CRA sees you as ineligible for the 20% supplement! As the entire program is based on Postal Code! This effects not only myself, however likely THOUSANDS of Canadian taxpayers. I have written to my Conservative Member of Parliament [John Barlow], the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, the Liberal Minister of Revenue and the Commissioner of the CRA regarding this issue/oversight, but have yet to receive a response from any of them. I have received the 10% supplement in the past two years, however have been determined to be ineligible for 2024! If you live in a rural area close to a CMA and do not have Postal Service, check your Canada Carbon Rebate notice, you also may not be getting what is owed/promised to you by Justin Trudeau and the NDP Liberal collation

Also do Canadians know that we still export COAL yes COAL to China. The years 2015,16,17,18 itwas appx 30 Million tons per year, 2019 and 20 it was 37Million tons 2021 32 Million tons 2022 36 Million tons and 2023 32 Million tons. Plus we are 4th on the list of exporters to China so there 3 other countries exporting mote than Canada. But we pay a carbon tax.

There is also hidden carbon tax in pur income tax because we pay the carbon tax that government create. We pay the carbon tax on the PM and MP travels, we pay carbon tax on heating and any other expenses on government buildings, their catering, etc

Farmers pay carbon tax on everything that do the truckers that move their products pay a carbon tax, then the companies that process the product pay a carbon tax. then the truckers that take those products to stores pay a carbon tax. then the stores pay a carbon tax then we pay our carbon tax.

Exactly and the libs are basing the amounts of the so called rebates just on what we would pay on our own carbon tax costs like for automotive fuel, and heating, as for businesses and the farmers and truckers they don't get the rebates to their costs wind up being passed on to us in our groceries and other items we purchase from the stores. It's those costs that are passed on that the libs refuse to admit are the secondary costs of the carbon tax claiming that the carbon tax only adds 1.5% to the cost of groceries but they aren't counting how the businesses, farmers, and processors costs being passed on in order to retain a slim profit margin despite what the libs are stealing from them.
