@thesimonjadis27 күн бұрын
I think that the combat looks great. It is a *concern* of mine, in that I prefer having a massive spellbar (Inquisition only gave us 8 spells and that was too few; I miss Origins in that regard) and don't like doing auto attacks. But it looks great and I know that it's going to still be a lot of fun.

Mainly around the 30-40 hour mark people felt bored with the combat. It wasn’t my opinion 😭 however from what in watched personally i am not surprised at all with that. Being only able to use 3 abilities and an ult compared to the previous games bioware has put out is a Huge step-back for me. Sure you can respec but thats a lot of effort to rebuild the whole build around 3 abilities and an ult. Should’ve went back to the KOTOR combat style model imo

Y'know this video may be about tips of the Gameplay...... but for me... the most important part came at the end, the fact that you said that the story is well-written is incredibly reassuring to me. After Bioware lost so many members of the original Dragon Age development team i was worried that the story wasn't going to hold up... I don't need Veilguard to be as astoundingly written as Origins or even Inquisition, i just need it to be.... as you yourself said it...... Well-written. Players of the current time aften forget this..... but not all games have to be Masterpieces, as long as the gameplay is sufficiently fun and the story and characters can hold their own as well..... then i will be satisfied.
@Jesus_friggin_christ24 күн бұрын
opinions differ on this part, skill up was VERY critical of the writing in his review. "Every dialogue feels as if HR is in the room watching every word." It apparently also misses the darker themes that the Dragon age series is known for, leaving the overall mood of the game to be very cheerful and quirky when the plot is about the world being destroyed. which is kinda jarring.

kind of anwsered your own question there " I haven't played the other dragon age games" ... They changed a lot of components from the last 3 , combat being completely fast pace and limiting companion party to 2 , design changes , a story that many believe has been watered down and no longer acknowledging world states (which used to be Biowares bread and butter for ALL of their games) ... It's a lot of changes that people ( some who have been waiting 10 years for) were not prepared for thus the anger. Honestly if you're interested in it, play it and hopefully you'll enjoy it. At this point with the mixed reviews it's probably best to just see for yourself.

@@dikardvondoom3574 Origins is by far the best dragon age game and if its dated then so is Baldurs Gate 3. Inquistion and Veilguard both have massively dumbed down combat to appeal to gamers who are too dumb for a good tactical system and lack the mechanical skills for a legitimate action system. Too easy, feels weightless, no real strategy or tactics needed beyond button mashing and yet still drags things on far too long.

I still love this combo system from Andromeda, wish other rpg's that have team up type abilities would go this route instead of like FF7 Rebirth just having pre baked abilities as in the synergy attacks. But the next evolution to me would be: you launch an attack like poison, then you activate your teammate to use wind-this then creates a cloud of miasma. Another example you use debrave or AP down then have your teammate use lightning & this combo triggers temporarily completely disarming an enemy. So something is a primer, then a detonator but it creates a UNIQUE effect you couldn't get otherwise. & this would give a ton of options & depth from this system.

@travisfair957327 күн бұрын
Yes, you will. The weapons and stuff aren't RNG loot drops but have pre-defined places you can get them via chests and shops. The main thing that changes is what weapons you get depends on your class (so if you play Rogue you'll be finding bows and daggers, not staves, orbs, hammers etc). Any grind is to use the mats you get from breaking stuff and finding just lying around the maps to increase the weapon's + indicator, which itself is gated by Caretaker level (and also given to you free if you upgrade the rarity of an item as it makes that weapon whatever your caretaker level is).
