I have a Tisas 1911 DS 9mm Carry 4.25in and it's the best handgun I've ever owned! Tight slide with tight groups and only 1 misfeed in over 850 rounds! I think my son was limp wristing it when the sole misfeed occurred so I don't think it was the gun's fault. It had a 4.5 lb trigger out of the box! Tisas makes an awesome 2011 and I'm definitely a believer now! Classic firearms has a crazy $100 sale today on them and you can always get one on Buds firearms. GREAT GUN! 👏💪👍

@BoomStickTactical Yeah it's a great gun! I've always wanted a 9mm 1911, and this is far beyond what I thought I'd get. I checked out a Girsan 2011 but it seemed loose in the slide and just didn't feel right and I'm glad I waited for the Tisas 2011!

In 1993, I won my club championship in my class and was High Limited class (IPSC, USPSA) with a Colt Combat Commander in 45acp. I am delighted to have discovered this Tisas pistol now in my old age (77) and am planning to sell some stuff and buy one for carry and hopefully some competitions. Currently, I carry a Canik TP9sf Elite but am somewhat uncomfortable with a single action pistol and no manual safeties. Keep up the good work. I am going to save this video as a reminder about the proper care and feeding of a 1911. By the way, I have an original G.I. issue take down tool for the 1911. It is an L shape tool with a flat blade screwdriver on the short side and a pin pusher on the long side.

Thank you very much for showing the correct way in how to disassemble/clean/reassemble the 1911 platform. I grew up on Walther, H&K & CZ nomenclature and to be honest, I have always avoided the 1911 design, but there's no denying the smoothness of the SA only trigger...so I just got mine in the 2011 DS guise. I guess this will be for an entry level....and learn to live (and love) with the cocked-locked system. 😃🤐🤨

I truly hope your gun shoot better than mine that is currently sent in for repair. I purchased mine and could not get through a mag double feeding. Feed ramp very rough with extractor issues. It has been sent in for a month currently.

Mine was perfect. My feed ramp was great. First, I've heard of this issue but the Springfield Prodigy had a ton of feeding issues in its beginning. That's why I got the Tisas.

I think with that much grease, I would have detail stripped it - that's one thing I like about the 1911 platform, they're easy to strip down to the frame and reassemble. With a new pistol, it's also a good way to evaluate everything before taking it to the range.

@@BoomStickTactical I'd imagine so - out of the box, my Raider was fantastic. With minimal upgraded parts and a few hours of polishing and tuning, I'd pit it against a $1500 Colt any day that ends in y and twice on Sunday. I'm liking .45 more than 9 these days, so I'm holding out for a double stack .45 but the double stack 9 is looking quite appealing right about now.

Just got done cleaning mine just like you like watching vids ljke this while i clean my gun but was a little worries when putting back togetther noticing the barrel seems to have a little opening at the breach face meets barrel but seen yours is the same way kinda looks like a chamber indicator to see if a round is chambered ...i have the stingray in 9mm 4.25 barrel an it doesn't have it so was worried was gonna swap them out to see how they match up cause ive heared they are interchangeable but i wanna shoot it first which ima do monday since tomorrow is easter dont wanna get on the neighbors nerves but anyways love the content!! Great video!!

Make sure the round rotating pin under the barrel is lined up with the slide stop pin when putting the slide stop back in.

The rear dovetail is the same as Glock. The front post is not. I'm not sure of a replacement yet either.

Should I go this one (B9R DS Duty) or should I grab the MAC 9 DS (4.25 Bull Barrel variant). I heard bull barrels are more accurate but full size pistols shoot flatter and softer. I already have a Tisas B9R Duty single stack.

I keep hearing people say a frame is either steel or alloy. WTF People? Alu. is an alloy. Steel is an alloy. Alloy in no way means alu. Period! Steel without allying is pig iron. Not steel at all. all Steel is alloyed with different alloys to give the desired attributes. How did this glaring mistake take hold in the Gun world? KnifeMaker
