That's the most touching comment I've ever got on this video. When you're free from the system it's pure bliss. I used to consider myself homeless, but now I think a brick and mortar home is more of a prison, a prison you have to pay for.
@bennyhill61612 жыл бұрын
I love my 936 sqft prison in the northern NM mountains. I have to say I got really lucky though purchasing this 2 1/2 acre property at $20,000 in 2021 which has a working clean well water system, electric pedestal already on the property working, & a new septic system that was recently built before I purchased so I have to say I got damn lucky which means I don't have a mortgage, I don't have a water bill, my electric bill is minimal & will be obsolete as soon as I throw solar up. I lived the Nomad life for 3 1/2 years & would still be a nomad if it hadn't been for the strike of luck with the low purchase cost of this land. I don't know if this guy was smoking crack when he sold it to me or what but anyway I bought it & it's mine, All mine Now! Ha ha ha ha Ha!

That's the mindset of someone who doesn't have a family to take care of or have kids to raise. A home is home base, a place to grow memories and decorate with the history of your family from start to finish. All the "brick & mortar home is a prison" talk is nonsense and shouldn't be taken too seriously by young folks. Find someone, start a family, get your brick and mortar home or build one yourself, and make lasting memories.

Hey fellow Boon-docker thanks for showing us your travels! I left WI. a year and a half ago and for the first year I traveled in my little Suzuki and camped in tents. It was the best year ever, and I can truly say that my life is fulfilled even if I don't make it another day! I now have a truck and travel trailer and finding boon-docking sights are more difficult for a big rig but still better than living in one spot waiting for some day! My advice for those to follow us is to stay small unless you plan to live in an rv park and ignore the ney-sayers and those that criticize, in reality they are just jealous and fearful. Enjoy the Journey! Stevie

B Lowell plus all those possessions come with property taxes! In my case come to over $6,000/yr! Then you have the other necessary evil, insurance, which comes to another $4,600/yr. So for the "privilege" of the American Dream I have to spend almost $200/week, for that privilege! Sometimes I feel like selling it all and just go out on the road to live as free as possible!!! Just own a nice truck and camper, to be able to fine those places that we could stay for free or reasonable cost. To see the Country and all the beautiful areas out there!

That is one happy dog! I grew up in that area. One bushcraft dude in the late 80's brought me into the woods to pick little john or salile. We spent a few hours doing it, then took it to a distributor and sold it for $80 bucks! That was ages ago, i'm sure its more now. Anyway it seems if you have a handful of skills in gathering you could easily cover the low cost lifestyle. Mushrooms could easily make you some money in that area. I've picked pounds of them, what a trip that was.
