Just got home from work. I’m an old man, so envious, wishing you well and saying, “Good for you”. Thanks for sharing. I have on sound canceling head phones to hear your video over the wife, on the phone, and mower in the yard. I’m having a drink with you, admiring the cliffs and woods behind you. I will offer a toast to your continued camping success. I’m liking the little camper that can go almost anywhere. I’ve been camping under a tarp for a long time. Your little camper seems to be just fine. Texas

Impressed with your off grid camping ... a CB radio, electrical repair kit, pot washing spray bottles, etc. You are a Boondocking MacGyver! I haven't seen you deploy a drone yet. A drone might help you get a better idea of your surrounding terrain when you are in the middle of nowhere. I recommend double thinking cohabitating with bears though. Bears are predators and will stalk their prey ... That be you. Please be careful "out there" my friend. A brother NJ boy -- now living in FL. FYI ... I just retired and bought a Jeep 4 Wheel drive with the plan to buy a tear drop. I haven't decided which model to buy yet, but watching videos like yours are very helpful. Well done! Hope our paths cross one day.

Thanks Larry! I love the off grid stuff. Drone is an interesting idea for sure. Might be good rather than driving in thoses places scouting out ocations, Thanks for the idea. I did research there are 160000 human on human murders a year in the USA and less than one black bear fatal attack.Humans are the most dangerous species on the planet. My plans were ruined but I had planed to hit the warm states this winter including Florida. Will reschedule for the future. Check my other videos kzbin.info SUBSCRIBE kzbin.info?sub_confirmation=1

Yes.. Pa is just starting to get fall leaves and the fest in Jim Thorpe. A Victorian town is cool. But parking is $10 for the day just to look around. Some find a space at the edge of town and then walk around or use a bike. People are still rafting in the river.

Hi Cosmo, the fee is not for Provincial Parks, it's for "non-residents" to use the Crown Land - been that way for years and years. Technically, every single Ontario Provincial Park is Crown Land but the Province has applied specific facilities and rules appropriately. Even residents will be charged for trespassing if found camping at a Park Reserve without permission (they are protecting a habitat and want to restrict access). Again, this is Crown Land where different rules apply. Similar to using the American National Forests and BLM … for the most part, it's free but exceptions do apply at certain locations. Hope this clears it up and why you needed to get the $9.35 permit. Cheers, Steve

I had similar ranger experience couple years ago while traveling east through ontario. Quebec was having a special anniversary and I was able to get a free pass for the quebec parks. The Ontario folks were oh so nice. Folks in Quebec could be quite rude to the American that could not speak french very well. Not all, but some. Was fortunately not the rule. Excellent video.

Do you feel comfortable camping in a place where you know there is bear activity? Just curious...I don't know if I had a Teardrop I would...but, I don't think I would do any cooking in a place like that either...that was a very peaceful place, with the exception of the bear scat. Impressive that your vehicle and Teardrop got over both of those humps, without any problem at all...that is definitely a plus to having a small trailer like a Teardrop. Dinner looks yummy...that is a great idea instead of cooking really...especially because of the bears there. I agree, I would love the solitude there and just soak all the beauty up...this is SO much better than watching TV at home...lol Enjoy Cosmo!! 🏕💖😊I agree about the Garmin...I have one too and I made sure I got a good one...read all the stuff about them so I would know exactly what I needed...it has been great to have...I get lost too easy...if I'm not using a map...lol Such a cute couple and so nice to share their space with you...
@CosmoWeems
@CosmoWeems 6 жыл бұрын
I look ath the risk. There are less then one Black Bear attack a year. Black bears are a peaceful sort of bear. The incidents that do happen are 99.9% caused or provoked by inappropriate human behavior. Contrast that with the 16,000 human on human murders a year in the USA. Its clear to me where the risk is, :) I cant wait to get back out there with the "wild creatures" who are quite nice in my opinion. But first I have to wind down my friends estate. At best I can only do weekend trips occasionally. Regards =Cosmo

@@CosmoWeems When you put it that way, you put it in perfect perspective...l also didn't think about it being Black bears...they are the more peaceful of all the wild bears...so, nope...I'd camp around them too and let them enjoy the wild blueberries with me. If I had my choice, I'd a thousand times better be around animals than humans anyway...lol Hopefully, it won't be too long before you can get back out there and enjoy some more beautiful country and wildlife. Take care and thanks Cos...💖🌃🐾🐻💩

Great video but being from northern Ontario there are thousands of lakes to enjoy and camp at. You could have camped on a new lake every night. The great lakes aren't that appreciated compared to cottage country, its grid lock to muskoka from Toronto on the weekends and a ghost town to any great lake in Ontario for comparison. Not that you want to drive in heavy traffic, but if you come back I have to suggest Muskoka or just north of there that isn't as busy but still has regular amenities and not just a previously burned out forest like that spot in Thunder Bay.

Crown land (sometimes spelled crownland), also known as royal domain or demesne, is a territorial area belonging to the monarch, who personifies the Crown. It is the equivalent of an entailed estate and passes with the monarchy, being inseparable from it. Today, in Commonwealth realms such as Canada and Australia, crown land is considered public land and is apart from the monarch's private estate.

Hello Kerryjane. Loved the video of the dog pulling the wheelchair. Never find a truer friend than a dog! A helpful ranger told ne the permits are required for provincial parks. What was the rangers reason that you couldn't camp there?
@CosmoWeems
@CosmoWeems 6 жыл бұрын
It was Silver Lake. I found the pace on FreeCampsites.net When I got there the place was posted with no camping signs and there was a pay campground within sight. I am sure free campers was an irritant for the campground. I did not question the ranger. He was being nice and offers solutions like Walmart for me to camp at. When nomadic boondocking I have to be very flexible I hope that comes thru on the videos. Some recommended places did not exist others were full but that is to be expected - you just keep roaming and you find the next good spot. SUBSCRIBE and See my other videos at kzbin.info

@CosmoWeems
@CosmoWeems 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Davey, In my case it was a compromise between the 99% of paved driving compared to 1% on dirt. I wanted the everyday car gas mileage. I am getting 32 highway and 28 MPG mixed and around town, I get 20-24 towing. Outback has 8.75 inches of ground clearance which is very good for this class of vehicle. Jeep is a top notch off road'er. Once I came to accept the limits of my vehicle I was good. I walk the roads before I take the Outback and trailer down them to make sure I will still have a functioning vehicle when I come out. I have lots-o-off-road video in my boondocking videos. You have the Jeep so go have some fun. I sometimes have to turn around on road but then some roads turn around every vehicle. I never feel cheated. I just find another road! Thank You for watching. Thanks for sharing. I have the same vehicle. How has your experience been using the Outback as a full time towing vehicle? CVT holding up? I'd love to see a video of you discussing the issue.
@CosmoWeems
@CosmoWeems 5 жыл бұрын
Thank You . Check my other videos kzbin.infovideos SUBSCRIBE kzbin.info. My trailer is a perfect match for the Outback. The trailer is below the towing capacity of the car. Outback is a 2018 4 cylinder. I think its an SI model. The car. It gets great gas mileage and has 8.75 inches of clearance. It tows well. Handles good and the brakes on the Outback are larger than the Forester so it stops better and the trailer brakes are a perfect match for this car. Outback also matches the 200 pound tongue weight of the trailer. I have stuff in the trailer when towing but I don;t fill it with other gear. When I load the care I pay attention to weight distribution. to help the ride and handling. I put only light stuff behind the car axle if I can. I drive about 65 to 70 for gas mileage and 75 or higher when I need to cover ground. I had it up to 90 once for a short period just to see. No issues for me. I get 20 to 24mpg towing at 65 to 70. Better mileage if I go slower. I get up mountains just fine but I am not passing everyone or holding anyone up going up mountains.
