Hello darren, you are doing it wrong... the configuration of the stepdown temperature is always 30 + N times you click, NOT current temperature + N times you click. And setting your current temperature to 32 will make it quickly reach the stepdown temperature you set. So it's better to set the current temperature lower.

@@DarrenYeoYTWhat StevenJ said about 30° + n for calibration!!! I need to ask you how you knew your light was at 32°C ? The calibration of the light's temperature should be done at room temperature, never when it's warmed up. And it needs to be done ASAP. For most individuals room temperature would be 18-22°C. 32° just doesn't sound right. Do you know about long presses for calibration and programming in Anduril 2? One long press, which is about a second to a second and a half, is equal to 10 quick presses . So two long presses and two quick presses equals 22 presses, and four long presses and seven quick presses equals 47 quick presses. Much easier to do and count.

Anyway what is the maximum step down temperature i can set on anduril 2 ? is it 75celcius ? because i want to set to maximum as it can.. i dont mind the heat as i want to manually step it down if my hand can no longer hold the heat.
@craigs7181 Жыл бұрын
@@harisyoung4110 You are quite welcome! I highly recommend downloading the Anduril 2 "text manual" or better yet, make a shortcut to it. It thoroughly explains all the options Anduril 2 has, and it is staggering! Far more than any included manual will provide. Many options may not be available on a light simply because the light may not have tint shifting, or dual channels, or auxiliary led's, as a few examples. Or the firmware in your light may not be new enough for it to have all the options available. One neat option I wanted to try was the "soft" stepping mode, but unfortunately none of my lights have this feature because the firmware isn't new enough. You will be stunned by all the options that "may" be available to you to further customize your lights to your liking!

Finally a short instruction for calibrating anduril 2.0 temperature. It mixes it up about the temperature. Now it is clear that total number of counts for the stepdown from the operating temp. I think max temp that can be set is 70c right? I kinda live where ambient temp is between 30-37c

Just got first Anduril 2 and the temperature calibration was so hard to work out. I just want to summerise for any begginners. 1- enter temperature mode (3C 2C from off) 2 - set current temp, 7H and release after 1st flash, then enter temp eg 20 Celsius is 20 clicks (whatever current temp is). 3 - 7H and release after 2nd flash, then enter temp you want flashlight to step down - click 30 times less than desired stepdown temp, eg 55 Celsius minus 30 is 25 clicks. Flashlight must be room temp for accuracy. Hope this helps, my OCD would not let me relax until I got all this confusing stuff sorted and youtube video's only confused me more

@@DarrenYeoYT Yes, I set it on 55c and see how it goes for a few days. Actually it does get abit toasty after the 1st minute but I would say it does hold for longer. As it is even on high it is good enough for work/play and having that turbo available is great too. So far its a keeper. Cheers

This is by far the most useful tips I've seen on your channel, Darren. I'm not sure if I want to prematurely burn out my favourite FC13s by extending their thermal cut-off times though. If there's something that I learned within a few short months, these passively cooled flashlights were never meant to sustain Turbo or 100% output for long. Not until someone invents an active cooling, fan-less flashlight tube or a new light emitting technology that's impossible to run hot. 🤔 Maybe that'll eventually happen in 20 years' time. 😀
@DarrenYeoYT6 ай бұрын
I read somewhere that the electronics can handle 60C easily but the battery is the issue 😅 also, the light becomes to hot to hold!

To set the step down temp, you click the temp you want minus 30, so if you want 55 degrees , you click 25 times.
