I am a proud SAHM of four and the reason I say that it's because this is by far the hardest job I have ever done! Physically and mentally!!! Homeschooling, housekeeping,entertaining...... etc! Congratulations to all SAHM parents out there!!!

I would argue that being a stay at home parent doesn’t mean it’s because you have the financial privilege of doing so. We sacrifice a lot as a family for me to stay home. We also know we cannot afford childcare at it’s current cost. I love being a sahm and feel like it’s the single most important calling in the world 💗 thank you for sharing your thoughts 💗

I was thinking this as well. The only reason I am staying home (and I'm not trying to complain) is because we cannot afford childcare at all and do not have reliable family or friends to watch our baby for me to get a job. I worked my entire pregnancy up until 2 weeks before I gave birth. I've worked some pretty disgusting, labor intensive jobs but this one by far is the most difficult. I love my baby, but it's not easy. I try every day to make it through the next day. I hope things get more fluid for me, also everybody has a different story and a different situation too. But I agree with your comment ♡

And we do struggle with money because of it, so that's always a huge stresser on our relationship and our lives. We only have one car that's insured so I can't just go out and work... also, childcare costs. Its like paying rent at least where I live. 😬

I was a full time academic and career person before having a child. Now I am a SAHM with my second on the way and it's been the most challenging thing I've ever done. I agree it is a huge service to society by raising physically and mentally healthy human beings. Zero to three is the most fundamental development period for the human brain. It is very difficult but I think we should all be proud of that dedication. Also it's a beautiful time to be with our children for us emotionally as well. Thank you for sharing this it is a very important message.

Avital! This is incredible. I’ve been on the brink of mommy burnout the past few weeks, feeling exhausted and devalued, and it turns out that I really needed all of this advice. I am re-energized after watching it. So much love to you and your precious family!

Thanks for this, Avital. I work 10 hours a week from home helping my husband with his business, which I love, as it gives me lots of flexibility to be with our kids and run our home the way I want to. But several friends of mine often make comments like “do you think you’ll go back to work soon?” Or “when do you think you’ll work in your own field again?” as if the work I do isn’t valid because it’s only for my husband’s business. This really irks me! Thanks for your empowering video. :)

I love the CEO idea. Because my personality type is very much CEO material. People in my life were disappointed in me for choosing to "waste" my passion, my brains and my skills on staying at home with babies. BUT, why should I use the skills god gave me for corporations and not for my OWN, children and husband?? So this is how Ive always seen it. Anything I choose to do, I do WELL.

I had a tough day yesterday and I really felt lonely because i am losing confidence and not having "social interactions" and "adult conversations". Today, i chose to do my makeup and dress up and it really lift up my mood!

I’ve been stay at home for 8 years now, most of that was and is spent watching others children. I do love it but at times it can be very isolating. My two kids are both school grade now so I currently have one toddler at home to watch. The hardest part of this job honestly is the loneliness..
@oc2538
@oc2538 2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is so isolating, nobody understands this. Having almost zero adult interaction for 8-13 hours a day is hard. I always listen to podcasts and audiobooks but that is just me taking it in.... It doesn't go back and forth.

I prefer full-time parent/I take care of the kids full-time. I find it helps people stop to think for a second of the responsibility, rather than be dismissive of it as not being hard work. Thank you for advocating for us 💜

I a hundred percent agree to each sentence of this video, as a 3 y o mother and also a manager in her corporate life, who spent only 11 months at home with her kid. I must say that this 11 months was probably the most difficult time of my life. I have the highest respect to all mothers, but especially the stay at home ones! Managing this whole thing causing continuous anxiety and running the entire household business definitely requires the highest management skills!:) Kudos to you all!

Avital, how are you making this video with a newborn?!?! I couldn’t even shower let alone put on makeup or put a video together. How do you organize your work/life to feel like you’re actually taking care of yourself too? I feel like I can either take care of home or myself but not both. I’m an exhausted SAHM

Oh my, I was so wrong!😂😂😅💪 It was the most needed step I took to create family bliss! I don't know you, but I highly recommend the course to every mother! 💕💕💕

Yep aging is a freaking priviledge. It's literal life. My mum died at 59, never got to be a grandma...my literal ambition now is to be there for my grownup kids and their kids.

I needed this, miss you Avital. Regret not doing the course last year. I'm going to repeat daily I'm the CEO of the house. Everyone around me always asks when are you going to work. My youngest is almost 2 and hearing "what do you do all day" or my mother in law will say "I was working 12 hours a day and hand time to cook and clean." it just chips away at my self esteem and if I don't have that then what am I offering to my kids? Sometimes things don't always get done especially if my child is having a difficult day and wants me hugging and cuddling her. And then it becomes a cycle, feeling like I'm not doing enough at home and not doing anything to advance myself. I end getting into a victim mode. I try to own being at home but it certainly is isolating esp with the pandemic. I had this experience last week when the moms at my daughter's ballet asked what I do....the looks on their face when I said SAHM was as if I mentioned I have scales on my body. Maybe they assumed all SAHMs are put together and looking flawless? Here I was looking like I rolled outta bed meanwhile, they were in clothes, makeup and talking about their careers. 😔 But I could also be projecting on to them my insecurities?

Such a good video! I left a highly corporate position a few years ago and felt weird being “just” at home. But leaned that “jsut staying at home “ was very familiar to my manage my position. So I started it owning it even without the pay 💰 😂

I am a piano teacher and taught from home and home-schooled all of my 4 children. I gave them the best I could so that they will have a chance to make a good life / career for themselves. Now looking back, I feel that this was great for my boy, but my girls who are heading towards amazing careers, I now worry about this, because one day they want to be married and have children and HOW will they balance work and kids and home-life...do you see the paradox? I stayed home and made sure they can have great careers, but my girls will pay the price now for these great careers and have to choose between their career and being a stay at home moms...so what good did my sacrifices do?

What was your point in sharing that you don't stay at home, you work? And thn refer to the stay at home parents you are talking to through the screen as "them?" Are we "them" or "you?" One of the most annoying things other moms do when they work, at home or otherwise, is share to you, a stay at home mom that they work, but then proceed to tell you about being home. We know you work, ma'am. You have a brand, called Parenting Junkie. To tell me to stay interesting and get some brain stimulation is making a gross assumption that this not part of my day. It's incredibly rude.
