@UnityGymOnline
@UnityGymOnline Жыл бұрын
yes, it will help. But you need to strengthen your entire body. Suffering pain in one area as a result of a sedentary lifestyle will get much worse if you don't start resistance training 3 times a week for 40 minutes. If you just try to make the wrists stronger you will soon notice pain somewhere else.

Well, your wrists shouldn't hurt. You feel a discomfort from exercising, but it shouldn't be painful. And I'd love to help, but without seeing you perform the exercise, I can't provide feedback.

it's all about load management ... I'm sure you could do it that many times, but you want to monitor how you adapt and watch out for any signs of overuse.

@UnityGymOnline
@UnityGymOnline Жыл бұрын
Hi Amy, it's more about what you can handle. When I used to practice Kung Fu I would do 50 reps a day. All 50 without stopping. Your arms are on fire by the end, it's insane the muscle pump you get from it. I did that for many years and the strength and development in my wrists and forearms has stayed with me. Even now, 14 years after stopping Kung Fu practice :)

@@plutonium-6826 you're welcome, that's what I do :) FYI doing dumbbell chest press and barbell bench press is MUCH better for building the base level of strength required for good push ups. If you can get access to that equipment I'd recommending working on those exercises until you can get a body weight bench press for 5 reps. It's really hard to control your body with calisthenics when you don't have a baseline level of strength already. It's so much easier with weights.
