Man! it is looking great. I did a lot of the same plumbing on my S2. Luckily my car came with an external oil cooler, but i did plumb in an 2 qt Accusump . I did relocate the AOS, because of the ITBs, to a catch can mounted on the DS frame rail. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Steve! One of these days I’m going to get a hold of an S2 for a build!

Should also offer your coil fix for the swap on your website. With a reasonable profit of course.

Definitely a possibility, just assumed that most people doing this would want to do some of the trivial stuff themselves!

I'm running my fuel line and cooler lines also, haha i ran my line for the fuel rail the same way

I mean it makes the most sense! Might just have to put a little shield above that pulley 🤷♂️

@@BoostBrothersGarage i was trying to decide how to do the fueling, mine is also a return style, but i see you did the "deadhead" style, i was thinking about getting a fuel rail so i can continuously run fuel through the rail while it returns

I like those better, I was just trying to utilize the factory rail

Are you going to show the Soltice clutch setup? You kind of skimmed over it.

Yup! That will all be part of the clutch and flywheel install after we install the upper oil pan.

Sorry for the super amateurish question but is the oil cooler something that is necessary for the 07K, for street or race application, or is it just a performance enhancing option?
@BoostBrothersGarage5 жыл бұрын
I would typically say it isn’t necessary unless it’s seeing track duty or has heavy mods. However, the factory 07K setup had an oil cooler so in this instance I think it’s necessary regardless. Not an amateur question at all!
@s00p3rman5 жыл бұрын
I've got a 07 rabbit with a 07k and I'm pretty sure it's the best/ most underated motor vw ever made. It's such a dog when stock but a few tweaks and it can make some sweet sounding power. What are you going to run for engine management and gauge cluster? That has always been my dilemma given that stock ecu is linked to the cluster, so you loose cluster with stand alone engine management.
@BoostBrothersGarage5 жыл бұрын
We are going to run the Performance Electronics PE-8400 ECU, and they are building a swap harness for us that integrates the factory cluster! They have a “race dash” that’s pretty inexpensive as well, which you could easily run.
@s00p3rman5 жыл бұрын
@@BoostBrothersGarage ok sweet! Personally I prefer the stock clean look and function. Awesome project, I'm eager to here it run!
I’m definitely getting less embarrassed of my work lol

A company out of Brazil that we have contracted to make them all.

@@BoostBrothersGarage I think I know who they are. Been searching for a solid casting manufacturer here in Europe but the cost... I even thought about doing it myself . Nice Porsche!
@BoostBrothersGarage5 жыл бұрын
So far so good with them. We were quoted some obscene pricing here in the states, completely undoable for small production stuff like this. It’s too bad 3D printing in metal is still cost prohibitive!
@IngeBall5 жыл бұрын
@@BoostBrothersGarage I'm following a guy who 3D printed his intake and is gonna reinforce it with CF on the outside, boosted cherry on top. We'll see how that turns out. My personal plan is to make a 2-part intake, runnerside and plenumside.
@BoostBrothersGarage5 жыл бұрын
I’ve been told that if the print is quality enough an intake can be made to last. Our ABS 3D printed intake was done in 5 pieces and just doesn’t seem like it will cut it.

SORRY TO BOTHER YOU BUT NEVER USE BRASS FITTINGS ON YOUR ENGINE ! ALWAYS USE STAINLESS STEEL ! PARKER HAS A MASSIVE CATALOG AND THERE ARE SOME SMALL PARKER STORES WHERE THEY CUSTOM MAKE BRAKE LINES HYDRAULIC HOSES AND A LOT MORE ! BRASS FITTINGS SUCK ASS... THAT DO NOT HOLD UP TO HEAT AND VIBRATION VERY WELL ! I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MANY OIL LEAKS THAT I'VE SEEN BECAUSE OF BRASS FITTINGS ! DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME IT COSTS LESS ! LIKE WE SAY IN CONNECTICUT { JOKINGLY }... WHY DO IT RIGHT WHEN YOU CAN DO IT AGAIN ?
@BoostBrothersGarage4 жыл бұрын
I don’t remember where I used a brass fitting but this was just the development car. The engine has since been pulled and will be getting a full build and overhaul before going into the next chassis
