Superchargers offer instant acceleration and response. Turbochargers have lag, munch gas when on boost, and both have a lot of top end. Turbochargers you can adjust the boost on. With supercharged motors, you can change the drive belt or install a larger roots or screw type supercharger.

Many countries overseas, in Europe and Asia, also have displacement tax on an engine’s size so forced induction on smaller engines is a way to get around those taxes
